One skill I have a question about, but yes I will be mentioning two:
Armor Repair Systems (or something like that) gives you the ability to equip Armor Repair modules. They also have a passive bonus as well, giving +3% to armor repair rate.
Now I know Remote Armor Repair systems upgrades your Repair Gun...
But does Armor Repair Systems give the bonus to your Armor repair modules or the repair rate on the Repair Gun? |

This is one skill that there has not been much clarification on. I don't remember exactly, but we had a pretty good thread on this a month or so ago. I can tell you that it currently does nothing for your armor repair modules. As far as repair rates on repair guns, I would have to do some testing, but again I would assume that as of now it's a broken stat. |

Well apologies for making a thread that has already been discussed a month ago. Thanks and hopefully CCP will give some insight as to what this passive skill does or fix the description in order for people to better understand... |

" I can tell you that it currently does nothing for your armor repair modules."
This part is not true. its just that 3% of the repair modules for drop suits is not much. At complex repair mods you get +5 rep rate/second. The 3% bonust to that adds only 0.15 to the rate of your repair, making it 5.15 overall. The rate is near negligible but it does work.
Once you max it out you can get +15% overall, making a complex armor repper give you +.75 to your reps/sec. So if you double stack your reppers you can get +1.5 making your total +11.5 armor/sec. Its not much but every bit helps, I mean how many times do we all hit 0/0 hit points and come out alive. Every bit helps.

Can you confirm with tests? It does not work on the vehicle repair rate. The tooltip also does not show a change (it rounds to the nearest 100th). |

its unreal that GM's will move these posts and threads, which means they recognize them, but do not comment, offer insight or steer new players in the right direction. -1 CCP |

Many of the GMs and mods don't actually have this data easily availible to them and as we're still in beta is changes with some degree of frequency so it's really not on the shoulders of the folks you actually see posting in these threads.
That being said I would very much advocate more information sharing from CCP with regards to things like this. Even a simple list of known broken skills and gear (and how it's broken) would go a very long way to helping new players learn and all players test.

ps ~ when I say list I mean posted on the forums in one consolidated sticky so every player can find and access it, spread out info, info in posts buried pages deep on the forums or info given over IRC really doesn't get the job done. |

Well here's the weird thing...
The last time I put points into this skill, I noticed my Militia Repair Tool, (since at the time I hadn't planned on going into higher tier Repair Tools) repaired armor MUCH faster.
At level 1, it's semi-noticeable, but not much different.
However, during Codex, I got it up to level 3 or 4 and did notice I was repairing armor using a Repair Gun MUCH faster than normal.
So maybe it affects the repair gun instead of the armor repair modules?
Which wouldn't make sense since the skill unlocks Armor Repair modules...
And even IF this was the intended effect, it STILL doesn't make sense since it would be a better passive skill on REMOTE armor repair systems, which upgrades your repair gun... |

See I thought that the only thing that effects your rep guns ability is getting a better rep gun. The other rep bonus applys to your dropsuit armor rep and vehicle. I could be wrong though. I'll try and test it tonight, since I should be upgrading my armor rep tonight. |

Do the math on vehicle armor repair modules as well. The piddling amount that barely makes a difference on a suit can be quite a bit more satisfying when doing regenerating the armor on your HAV.
I haven't actually tested the armor rep tool in relation to this Skill although it makes sense.
The level of frustration from inadequate, missing or ancient documentation in DUST is immeasurable. |
