Everyone else here, especially Ulysses, is posting weapon requests. So I'm jumping on the bandwagon.
Parasitic Pistol Sidearm Slot Base Damage: 10 Max Ammo: 9 Clip Size: 3 RoF: 20 RPM
Effect: The gun shoots a high-tech "parasitic" slug, that weakens Shields and Armor. Once latched onto an enemy, the enemy's shields become more susceptible to damage by X%. Variants could include:
- Shield regeneration ceasing/slowing
- Module Effectiveness reduction
- Power Unit drain (as stamina is used up, shields decrease).
Range: Short-Short Medium Accuracy: 100. Like shooting a sniper rifle in CQC Velocity: 20 m/s
I only add the base damage of 10 because it seems that if shot while being at 0 shields and 0 armor, you should die. With range, damage drops off.
I could see this as a great Logistics tool if running in a squad. A foreseeable great Anti-Heavy utensil.
Is it terrible? |

I like the idea, but what if someone is shot by multiple rounds? Will they stack, and if so, should they have stacking penalties? If they do stack, I think perhaps 2 shots per clip is sufficient. If it is 'parasitic,' would the weakened enemy give strength to the shooter? CPU/PG requirements?
And most importantly, could this be implemented without someone crying OP? Stacking Penalties, I'm sure it would operate Logarithmically.
I was considering Leech, but Leech would infer that your Shields and Armor just drain. I used parasite because parasites make you sick, like how the weapon makes your Dropsuit "Sick".
It wouldn't give the victim better combat abilities, but it has a short timer. Let's say 10 seconds of effectiveness.
I totally forgot about CPU/PG. When I'm online, I'll take a look at my pistol list. I'm thinking that most basic would have as much CPU/PG as an Assault Scrambler pistol.
I'm sure that with a reasonable X% per level of gun, it wouldn't be OP, especially with only Nine shots, when a shotgun can OHK and can carry 36 (?) shots. |

One that reduces shield recharge rate and increases time required for recharge to commence (for use against type II assaults) One that prevents stamina recharge (helpful for those pesky scouts) Another that slows enemies (but now we're getting into EWAR)
Precisely. Different "Parasites".
My personal favorite, even though I came up with it, is the Stamina and Shield drain. When the victim uses stamina (melee, jumping, sprinting) their shields drop with the stamina. Longer term effect.
