I see many different Threads saying Nerf ARs, and such and such. Instead of blantently Nerfing it, Give it a Way for the users to have 1 downside to it. I Suggest recoil. The SMG has recoil like None other, from what I remember about using it last. And the recoil will in essence lower the Effective Range, while maintaining the general point of the weapon. While on the topic of recoil, Every weapon shold have recoil, Prevelent in every viewpoint, not just ADS. |

On topic I say the AR's have recoil already and it doesn't need changing. People should adjust their builds if they're getting destroyed so quickly. |

Your sights will have not moved of off the target you were shooting. Try that with an SMG |

This gazillionth attempt is just as lame as the others. Possibly a little worse since it is not clear that the basic functionality of the AR is understood in the OP.
There is little to no Kick in ADS for the AR. That is for hip fire. That is how it has been throughout all of Chromosome. Longer than that I believe but I no longer remember all the various build names and their individual AR Nerf treats.
Watching the AR from the side when another Merc is using it is informative. The longer one fires the worse the Kick gets. That is the draw back for the AR. You have to Stop shooting to get the Kick to stop. You have to engage ADS to not enable Kick. Also that is what the Skill decreases. Coincidence? I think not.
The main AR Drawback is the Kick when hip firing.
No Skill point solution is to ADS or only fire in short bursts.
Skill Tree can be used to reduce Kick during Hip Fire. It is also useful for gaining access to higher level weapons.
PS: Additionally for those that have been around a short time, Iron Sights were a Nerf to the AR as were decreased range and less damage spread from least to best. |

The solution to ARs is not mechanical. It is tactical.
Move backward or move forward. The shotgun or HMG will outperform it at closer ranges, the laser rifle at farther, the sniper at farthest. |

I'd go for a rate of fire decrease. Make it shoot like the Breach SMG. Why IS the AR shooting faster than ANY SMG anyway?

The "recoil" and "kick" you're talking about is purely cosmetic until you get about half way through the magazine.

It's on a Hitscan system, which means that it's just a straight line that doesn't take into account "recoil" and "accuracy" as it's just throwing simulated damage down range until the line gets intersected. I have an entire thread explaining this.
My Assault Rifle Operation is level 1, imagine what it's like at 5.
750 rounds per minute = 12.5 rounds per second.
12.5 rounds x 32 damage = 400 DPS.
That's enough to kill just about anything in those 15-20 round bursts, including some Heavies, with absolutely no dispersion, kick or recoil besides the visual bouncing of the gun that doesn't affect where your bullets are going.
Recoil (in real life) isn't some mystical thing that happens after you fire a gun for a while, it's a constant thing. The recoil should START when you START firing, not when you magically attain alzheimers. |
