Noc Tempre wrote:Look at it another way. People AFKing for SP are on the edge of leaving for good. You are noticing that a lot of the "veteran" players do this lately. What does that tell you about the health of the playerbase?
I agree with this. Its either people AFK farm because they have hope that the game will get better or they just leave in the first place.
I can also tell you that its not like you have a better chance of winning if you play. The general competence of blueberries in Skrimish matches verges on coma patients. You squad up with your corp mates, you all end the match with 1500-2000 WP and guess what... you still lose. Wanna know why? Because all of the other Bluetards are 0/4 or 2/3 with about 200WP each. |

I love the comments against AFK farming in here. Its like you assume that one or two people could carry the entire team by participating. Apparently you dont understand just how bad the bluetards are these days.
Case in point - This morning, I jumped on before going to work. I was originally going to AFK farm while I got ready but then I saw that the match opened with only 4v4 so I felt bad and decided to actually contribute.
Soooo, what happened? I went 23/7, was #1 on the team while actively capping letters trying to win the game for the team. What was the result? A LOSS because all of the special freds on my team were too afraid to come into the complex and fight. They all kept to the edges of the map where they were safe and went 1/6 or 2/4 at best.
With that, I ask you champions of participation, whats the point? This is proof positive that you cannot backpack your entire team. All it leads to is frustration, boredom, and an increase in apathy. Id rather keep my furry butt in the MCC and continue to dream of the future while I eat my egg sammich. |

So excuse me if I'm not doing what YOU want me to while I'm playing MY game the way I want to play It. There is no code or honor here people. It is not real life. I will not apologize for ruining your gaming experience while I am enjoying mine. I highly doubt you save a lack of morals just for video games. That attitude has to blur into your REAL LIFE. Doing what you want in a video game is your choice, but why would you choose a team based game to neglect its purpose? There are plenty of sandbox games that would allow you do whatever without affecting other people who rightly expect participation. So you like to ruin other people's game experience. . . . and proud about it . . .while ENJOYING sitting in the MCC.
Then should CCP remove all of the crap blueberries from my game because they ruin my game experience?

We are talking about effort here, not skill. Contribution, dude.
Look at my previous post on the last page and then talk to me about the effort and contribution I am seeing in the game right now. This isnt an isolated occurrence either.
And you are dead wrong.. blueberries are getting worse and worse and worse.

I was new once, you were too. I was blueberry once, you were too. Were my c0 okie?
Yeah, I was new.. but then I also read about what the objectives of the game formats were. I knew I actually needed to capture a letter to win the match

Id rather keep my furry butt in the MCC and continue to dream of the future while I eat my egg sammich. You generalize the bad performance of players around you like everybody is the same, every match is the same, that a player that goes negative in one game cant have a 40 kill game in a different skirmish. Yes, people who play games that highlight participation actually do expect that to be the main component of the match. And you ridicule this? What other types of purpose do you miss?
lol, this is laughable. I am not talking about players who go negative, I am talking about players that do nothing even when trying. If someone goes 8/10 one match with 700+ WP, they are contributing. People going 2/3 or 1/4 with sub 300 WP are contributing as much as an AFK farmer.
If you actualy read what everyone is saying here, you would realize that we ALL see this and its not just once. This isnt about a learning curve and they all really really trying... they are horribad.
Every game is a redline and there is nothing that one or two people can to do fix that.

You do realize that you are assuming to know what is going on in other players heads while you are witnessing them in judgement, right? And maybe you know the circumstances surrounding what led to those players to thinking that way, too. No, cookie, I'll take a blueberry muffin.
I am basing my interpretation about what I see....
Situation A - There are a clump of blueberries around the CRU and firing around them, nobody is pushing out.. I spawn, run to objective C (nobody is there) cap it, and then run to objective A and cap that. Before I am done with A, the enemy had already had the time to move to C and de-hack. Wanna know where all the blueberries still are? Around the CRU or running out into the open part of the map and away from anything that could be productive to winning the match.
You seem to think that these matches are coming down to the wire and you only needed that AFK'er to push you over the top. Take off the rose tinted glasses |

You are not the only person with a brain that plays this game. So you can think in a creative way while those you think less off die in some inferior way, great. I witness the same thing. These mcc squatters would farm if there was picking your nose skill. And be pretty good at it.
How about you think of it this way. AFK farming is the workers disability program of DUST. We are all just collecting our checks right now after having to backpack you fools over and over again. |

tip: you'd have more time in your daily duties if you don't even fire up DUST.
You don't need to "pull your team into a win all by yourself" you need to stop playing to give someone else a chance to be part of a team. Mercenary contracts, or "battles" are just that, contracts. Fight and get payed or don't fight and don't get payed. It should be that simple. QFT. This is not hard people, but I do enjoy the twisted attempts to justify being a dbag to the rest of the team.
Pay me 5mil ISK and I will throw you on my back and give you a tour of the battlefield. I will show you sights you have never seen before like what an objective looks like. |

IF you play the game just fine then why do you need me? How would I or any of the other guys called out in this thread help since you obviously have it in the bag already?
I will make a deal with you. I will play the game if you personally give each and every blue dot lessons on what they need to be doing in the game.
You make it interesting, we will play the game. Its on you now buddy, have at it. |

lulz, this is still going on? CCP will never put a kick method based on warpoints.. wanna know why? because every fresh blueberry that doesnt know how to play the game yet will be kicked from the game and give up.
Wanna make the game interesting and keep people from AFKing or redline sniping? Then CCP can choose from multiple good ideas that are already on this forum
- Time limit for how long you can be behind the redline (couple minutes at least) - No WP for actions taken behind the redline - Move the redline back
Honestly, I think that they need to give a larger bonus for hacking a letter and WP for de-hacking. There should also be a bonus for being within a certain radius of the hacked letter as that will give blueberries more incentive to be in the thick of things. CCP needs to stop catering to the lowest common denominator. If they want noobs to have a chance, then they need to make a game mode or area that can only be accessed if you are below a certain amount of SP.
If you want something to change then come up with a solution instead of whining or nobody is going to take your seriously. |
