Mavado V Noriega wrote:the vets have been playing this for like 6 months now with no new content I'm one of those vets. I don't AFK farm, and I've got a stack of alts who could really benefit from me doing so. Couple of Skinweave Heavies and a couple of Sentinel fittings to make the job easier if I really wanted to as well. This isn't a valid reason to AFK farm. If you're not enjoying the game, don't ruin it for others, point out the exploit and let CCP work on it. Abusing exploits once they're this well-known is poor form.

And yes, there's a lot of blame for CCP here as well, but a lot of the people doing this SHOULD know better. And it's kind of a shame that they don't. |

I guess is the fact that is an AUR market, people is spending "real" money in the game, and DUST 514 is in the PSN market as a FULL game.... not a demo. CCP is making money from this game... so that is the equivalent of an "Official Release". 1. It's not the first beta to have functional microtransactions before release. 2. The AUR market existed when we were still in closed beta. 3. A beta isn't a demo, it's n incomplete product.
Almost every point Noc used to "prove" that it's a commercial release is flat-out false. Balance issues and basic core gameplay elements are still be altered and redesigned on a fairly regular basis. |

When implemented, if you do not engage or get engaged with an enemy in a set time, you will get booted with 0 isk and 0 sp.. I'm sorry but what? You'd have to move around on the map or fight someone to not get kicked? That's BS Level 5 with BS Profficiency Level 1. There are plenty and I mean PLENTY of different things that would cause players to get kicked because they don't adhere to this crap. Sniping- Technically you're not engaging the enemy Logistics- Your main job is to support. Mapping- You're active but you're feeding your team info by looking at the Tactnet Map. Hiding- Nuff said And then some. I'm pretty sure those rules aren't official and if they were these forums would be set-a-blaze with players crying tears of flames. Me included. Sniping: You're moving from/to a location to snipe, marking enemies with scope, and firing at (engaging) enemies. Logistics: If you're not moving as a Logi, then you're probably doing something wrong. Not necessarily, but even so, you'll have to be actively performing actions to get WPs, even though you may be technically engaging with teammates rather than enemies. Mapping: Unless you're squad leader, and therefore using the map to set and alter squad orders, there's no reason to be doing this for a significant amount of time. Hiding: If you're hiding in a position for long enough, and not moving at all, even slightly, then you're not active and not productive at all and shouldn't be considered as such.
As long as there's a reasonable time limit on the idle system, and earning WPs actively (Repair Tool, Assists, Squad Commission) consistently, then you should be fine. If you aren't fine, I'll be complaining too. |

RECON BY FIRE wrote:There is definately a period of time where you have to get used to Dust regardless of skill, but if youre still going 0-6 a lot after a month Im sorry to tell you, but you just arent very good at this game. You likely just need to improve your tactics and how you try to "take over game space," but me playing instead of AFKing is not going to help you do that. ...unless you're running dedicated Logi.
In Ambush, if I can die 6 times, but save 20 clones, I consider that going positive in spite of 0 kills.
In Skirmish, if I can keep a Heavy alive through sustained fire from multiple enemies, and he can hold half the enemy team down while we're hacking A, my death to a Sniper soon after wasn't a game-changer. |
