Once racial suits come out, does that mean we're going to have to spend even more SP to level up the skill for that specific race? I.E., if we have level X Caldari Assault suit right now, and racial suits come out, we're going to have to acquire level Y for, say, Gallente Assault suits? Or is the skill name going to be changed to just Assault Suits and we can use any race's suit once they're released? |

I'm for a "One time Equivalent SP Redistribution"
Basically my idea allows users for one time only, to take the SP they currently have invested in something like weapons, vehicles, and dropsuits, and allow them to take all of the SP of that skill and put it into a racial counterpart. One time only can not be reversed. Doesn't allow you to take SP from let's say Light Weapon Upgrade and put it into a suit skill. |

I'm hoping for the same thing Bojo is after.
I expect, however, that there will probably be a refund of the SP spent on specific racial variants as alternative versions of those weapons/suits/vehicles are made available. I don't think - as much as it would be preferable - that people will have the refunded SP locked into the same "type" of skill. |

Sounds mighty amazing.
But I doubt it will happen. Most likely they will change the name to "Assault Suit" which wouldn't be that bad since you would get to try everything out. |

This is typical of what CCP does with EVE when a skill gets removed from the game. My main still has something like a million SP left over from the removal of learning skills (don't ask).
HOWEVER...
They only do that when they remove a skill.
What is more likely is that they will simply add the new ones. They will frequently say, "if you can fly it now, you can fly it after" they change whatever it is.
So, while I agree that Bojo's idea is a good one, I wouldn't be surprised if they either:
- Just add the other suit skills and we will have train them; or,
- Convert the skill into two skills (Caldari Dropsuits & Assault Dropsuits) that total the same number of SP |

I think they are going to scrap the current dropsuit skills and come out with a new system.
Gallente Small Frame Drop Suit.

CCP Eterne has already stated that a SP refund allowing for a respec is an option that they are considering if they feel it will be worth it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was just curious since I'm bottlenecking myself--I haven't spent any SP on suits because I don't want to stick with the Caldari Assault and my Minmatar character is tired of wearing slaver scum heavy armor. |
