To start: I only post on this forum with things I find to be a legitimate problem. (Thats how beta testing ought to work, right?) And I do know it's a problem that I haven't done it thus far, but I do plan to keep track of, write down, and report every one of those players' tags from here on out when I play. (I've been lazy, I'm trying to play a game for goodness' sake )
To the skeptics who don't believe there are any aim botters in dust (including GM Vegas who thinks it's not a "genuine hacking claim"), I bring this up based off my hopes for fair fights planetside. Bots ARE out there and the number will surely grow coming to and past full release. To those who think I'm complaining because I'm bad or something else ridiculous, I typically run in #1~3 for WP with a high k/d rate  (my total isn't as super amazing as I'd like since they don't add skirmish stats, but w/e that's besides the point) driving a gunnlogi or running scout suit support. I also DO understand there are good players out there who CAN aim/fire/kill quickly and consistently, and I am NOT talking about them (it's pretty easy to tell them appart from stupid aim botters because they show skill ).
Every few matches (a few matches I count as 5-8, so I guess it's not a "few", making it more like on rare occasion for casual players) I come across one. Differences between newbies to Dust 514 and bots can be more confidently identified by those with better internet connections. Lag can make things appear otherwise and you should not make false assumptions of these based on a single instance - only highly consistent action from a player regarding a combination of the following:
(A list of things to help identify aim botters)
1. Instant Aim/Fire but play like an utter newbie and use newbie gear (maybe they play some other shooters but are inexperienced with battle tactics so this one might slide)
2. Using near to or Prototype Outfit - good fitting. Definitely not new (they've played enough to know a what a good fit is). Plays like a newbie from #1 with the insta-aim/fire. Only possibility aside from aim botting is a very small few of these may have passive sp'd.....(unlikely though)
3. While capturing a point, instant turn around + fire followed by difficult turning back to face the point. (If he can so quickly and accurately shoot at me, why can't he simply and accurately face the terminal??? Rare to witness since these botters rarely care about team play and just go for kills)
*4. Will unload ammo into a vehicle trying to kill those in it even if it's an HAV. I am not counting regular newbies who shoot at a vehicles because of noobness.
5. 90% of such players are very easily overpowered by not allowing line of site - I find the mass driver is an excellent way of dealing with aim bots.
* 4. Extended: It's been exceptionally rare for me to see an aim botter + opposing vehicle in range of each other without one or the other being killed otherwise before something happens (only seen it 3 times). I can only describe each situation I have witnessed. #1 - saw a militia AR take out 2 people from a full speed LAV as it drove by and then the third (after AR reloaded) as it turned around. #2 - aim bot on my team shooting at the exact same point on the enemy HAV(maybe where the player's body is within the tank?) until the guy got blastered by the tank. #3 - same exact thing 2-3 rounds later (I think the same player, actually) shooting at my tank towards the same central point on my tank as the other until he moved behind a wall, instantly stopping gunfire (unloaded about 2 full clips - no gaps in fire except reload). Make of this information what you will.
Heres the information. I'm sure I have typo's + occasional mistypes because my mind is clustered and I manage to write the wrong thing from what I'm thinking + trying to say  but these are my observations. I don't spend any time on the forum without something to bring up or add my 2 cents to, so I doubt I will have a chance to respond to trolls or converse over any of these things. There are bots; they can be picked out pretty easily if there isn't lag and you have a good view of them for more than a few seconds at a time. I'm sure there are other ways to pick them out.
P.S. You people say you need to modify the game to make an aim bot, but thats silly. All you need is control of input+output access to make it. Doesn't matter if the game is primarily server side or client side. The only way to stop the aim bots is check for inhuman action/reaction times in the game OR (since the other method may have false positives on a rare few) don't even allow the capability for instantanious aiming - slow down the max a bit to a possible aim/turn around speed. (.3 seconds to turn 180degrees and .1~.2 (.3 to go from straight down to straight up) seconds to adjust vertical aim and fire might be actually possible.) Repeat constant and instant aim/killing multiple times in a row from every direction with little to no prior knowledge of where the person actually is? Well that ain't gonna actually happen. Especially not by the dozens. Ever. lol |

this sentence above tells me you have no clue what an aim bot is or even remotely how it works.
so if i can turn quickly i am using an aim bot? wow ever heard of a mouse with sensitivity set to max.
i would love for you to show us ANY link to an aim bot for dust or how to code one since as we all know those games that do have bots it is quite easy to find them on the web. if you are seriously claiming every 5-6 games someone is using a bot that would mean thousands of players using one. if thousands are using a bot i can assure you they are not all programmers so where did they download this bot. i can tell you where... they didnt, because it doesnt exist for dust.
now when you start to see my point and cant find any bots for dust on the net hopefully you will realize perhaps someone turning fast or has good aim is more likely due to skill than your phantom aim bot...
but if it makes you feel better to think the reason others are better than you is because they are using a bot then thats cool. self dillusional thinking on your part is ok just dont waste the sane peoples time on this forum with this trash.

I instant Aim & Fire (sub 300-350 ms), you should take a reaction speed test, if you are averaging above 200ms on a reaction test and 500-600ms on a Reaction + Accurate Fire test, it means yer dead if i catch you before you get to aiming.

See above reply, in your 600-900ms reaction & aim time, i could detect you on the minimap turn around and shoot right about the time you get your aim together.
Theres a flash site with allot of aim & reaction tests, some people on there have scores that i can't even dream of ever getting, my scores are somewhere around Averge...some people are just born with it, others aquired it trough playing & training.
Aimbots on consoles ? No chance..

Actually you need to have a program that injects itself into the dll files that receives in & out going packets, without being noticed or corupting the data, then it needs to decrypt them / fabricate fakes that are send to the server and data to your screen so you can wallhack or aim onto skeletal points of enemies.
Easy to do on PC for those big cheat sites and easy to download & do it yourself, very hard to pull of on your PS3... |

Yes, you are in Full On Tin Foil Hat mode but even though every one in DUST Is out to Kill You doesn't mean there are Aim Bots.
Control of the Input/Output will not solve everything you claim it will. If, as suspected, the CCP Server is handling the majority of actual hit detection and damage allocation nothing related to I/O is going to help. Secondly I/O doesn't know what is On the Display Ever. Much less when aiming near something as it looks exactly the same as aiming at nothing. Firing in all possible directions require that actually happening. Which requires server interaction. It also uses Ammo and the server is going to display all those rounds heading out in various directions. Those would be very obvious.
Possibly a friend has suggested it but it really is difficult to pull off even in a PC game. The PC variants have had some success but they have access to the Everything including the Video Display, the hit box detection and your magical I/O.
Three things can provide all the answers to your impossible dreams. Fast reactions, keyboard, mouse with high movement settings and the Aim Bot just happens to be the Player in question. Some are just good. I am not suggesting that you are because otherwise you wouldn't be a QQ Kitten dreaming the Tin Foil Dream.

If you really think this is happening let me explain that a gaming mouse can be used on this game. If you see people turning really fast its a high dpi mouse not a controller. Also unlike other games there is pretty much 0 recoil on the top tier guns. You can do a 180 line up on a head and just hold the trigger down. |

Before you can accuse ppl of using an aim bot you need to prove an aim bot actually exists by providing links to said aim bot page. Any game that has aim botters in it has easy to find links to these bots. Otherwise how would ppl find and use these bots if noone else can?! |

As much as I hate to agree to any of the OPs claims, aimbots can be made. However, time travel is also technically possible. It would take some truly dedicated hacker to pull it off as well as some impressive hardware. Ps3 has been hacked but the dust client probably isn't. There just isn't any that can do it that would take the time. Unlike MW3 its not easy. But not impossible. |

Are you implying there is something wrong with tinfoil hats? Mine is very comfortable, stylish (it has a feather need I say more.) stops aliens from stealing my thoughts and most importantly in dire need can be used to keep my lunch fresh. |

I don' think the point of impossibility came up. But the fact that he states he sees an aim bot in every game means it would have to be so wide spread that everyone can get it.
1 Super genius with an aim bot? Unlikely but plausible.
1-2 Aim bots every game but yet noone can find a site with said aimbot? Impossible. |

Some people just need to acknowledge that AIM BOTS can and will exist, maybe not now, since I personally haven't seen any or otherwise feel I have illegitimately died. However, it can and will happen. And with almost everything when people are upset they exaggerate quite a bit, maybe he did see an AIM BOT, but only a couple of times, especially since the community is somewhat dwindling in light of old content, so it's even possible to have played one AIM BOTTER more than once.
Just because the game is client side doesn't mean people can't cheat, even if AIM BOTS would be near impossible to use. The program would only need the location of the players in game and once activated collect the info on the closest enemy and lock on by setting the on screen XY values to aim at the location of this hack targeted player. Even could collect model's height or location of the head's hitbox.
I hope that explanation is somewhat of an eye opener for some people.
Once again for me I haven't seen any yet, well... haven't felt if anyone was using one. I feel I have died legitimately and man I've had the kittens scared of me... especially by the shotty... LMFAO. I think my jumping also scared my GF who was trying to play Minecraft on my TV who likes to play with the monsters off, lmao.
