DUST Search - Am I the only one still enjoying the game?

+1 but at the same time have you been here for the nerfs, not exactly slow, cautious and methodical. The fact of the matter is this game does not work well as it is, it is a mishmash of too many things with no solid structure to tie it too, and is no where near release ready. That said I'm guessing this is just a limited release for the sake of testing and that there is a more complete version they are perfecting with the data from this easier to work on beta.......I hope.

They need more gamemodes. They need more guns. They need more. I haven't even touched any of the interesting gun's like the Mass Driver or the Laser Rifle. My main fit is the super rare "Yet another Gek Assault". Nothing special. And yet I'm having fun whether it was a corp match with coms and organized squad play or just emptying my head on a couple dozen matches of quick run and gun Ambush after work. Surely I'm not alone.

Too much talk of a possible wonderful future. Too much spin about Dust/EVE interaction. Too much promotion of "Packs". Too much delay on updates citing the need for hype at Fanfest, instead of releasing things to be tested - by the beta testers. And most of all too little delivery. If you have dropped cash on this game already you would have very good reason to be terribly disappointed.

Still after a year of this game(I've played every build, and all but one religiously) and seeing it only become less complex, more rote....I'm kinda burnt out, that said there have been a lot of improvements in game performance(hopefully more to come), balance and usefulness of the suits and weapons are much improved(tho still need minor tweaking). All that to say, if there is not a major patch come fanfest I'll be taking a break, I love this game, but really this is the most time Ive dedicated to any game and there is just not enough as it is to keep me playing every week for the next year. I'll probably play every third month until a major release, tho I will be here in the forums pretty regularly. which reminds me damn I wish this game was on PC. every time I get on PC games are just ten times more enjoyable to play.

Hardly for the sake of testing. What has really been released to test to warrant coming out of closed beta? It was released in this state so they could tie it to Tranquility without NDA hassles and ramp up the selling of stuff without the obligations to refund - hence the changes in sale T&Cs. I will agree with your other points, it's an average grab bag of ambitious ideas. Now they have directed all efforts to Dust over EVE so that will be two games probably worse off for the experience.

And listening to music whilst playing DUST is helpful when you don't have a squad. Han Zimmer's film soundtracks make me feel like I'm fabulous, even when I'm getting rolled by tanks.

I look forward for them actually releasing an update, not just a blog. I can see a lot of people leaving the game... but I also think they will come back when the updates are out so I dont see it as a huge issue.

I feel that most people who complain do not get that this is BETA (feel more like an ALPHA real) and do not understand how CCP is handling their updates or why there are a few maps and all the stuff. They are too ignorant and don't bother searching things up and have no clue that things like Planetary Conquest is coming and more racial variant suits and new game modes. That or they are just plain impatient.
