The biggest advantage for PRO I think, would be in PvE. Namely Drone Infestations. With the sheer number of PRO members, they'd be able to maintain a competitive edge ISK wise while avoiding Competitive game play which would also reduce the risk of them losing money to other Corporations. As it is now, they're only "forced" to fight in Planetary Conquest and Faction Warfare.
PRO currently has a bad reputation for two reasons.
A.) The general lack of skill that most of their members seem to exhibit. Which is due to the fact that most of PRO's member base is comprised of EXTREMELY new recruits. That isn't to say that they're filled with Bad players, there are quite a few decent PRO players, they're just hidden by the massive amounts of terrible ones. PRO used to be a pretty tough contender, if i recall correctly, during the Closed Beta. You know... those dark ages everyone seems to have forgotten about and learned nothing from?
B.) The Spamming. Using Local Chat to recruit and spamming mails to everything in local has caused a lot of hate to come PRO's way. Honestly I'm not sure why though. It's not like you can't get rid of the mail, or block the guy sending it. And hardly anyone talks in Local anyway. Gotta admit though that period where that guy with the long speech would spam it every 5 min. was annoying but that seems to have stopped.
My point is that none of those matter unless they're competitive. They don't lose anything by being hated. So why bother hating them? That is all...
Keep the faith. Thank you sir. I had almost completely given up on the community. I don't usually respond to these threads, but your comment has illicited a response.
We are bad in pvp right now, we are terrible. It is embarassing, but we aren't in it to win for now. We are concentrating on getting our newbros trained and familiarized and I can't begin to explain how difficult it is with the numbers we have and more joining everyday. It is incredibly frustrating to organize and mobilize on this scale, but we are getting there. I don't gauge our strength on how we operate now, because many of us are just now starting. I gauge our strength on what we can be. Now we are 2200 scrubs in STD gear, soon we will be pros with the gun game we have been lacking and we will be in PRO gear.
This is not a threat, I wish you all the best of luck in planetary conquest. You will not be facing the PXRXO you are familiar with in ambush and corp battles. You will be facing us at our best, I promise not to disappoint you in battle.

In all seriousness (since you actually responded this way instead of toting the company line), do you plan on actually weeding out those that cant cut it or still run with what you have? There is a difference between potential and just plain bad. You are also going to have a tough hill to climb in gaining any type of respect given the negative reputation of your leader from MAG days. I am not familiar with his reputation in MAG. To be honest, it doesn't matter to me. The way he conducts himself in chat and commands respect is well noted in my opinion. The man speaks with great passion and drive, this is something I respect greatly. I don't know the person everyone keeps talking about, because the contra you detest and tne contra I play with are 2 different men.
When he hired me, I asked him to present an example of the corp's ability to organize. He sent me the standard hiring packet. He and the hiring packet were both direct and succinct. My decision to join was a nobrainer and I stand by it.

Have you heard of taxes? Everybody counts. Everybody has a purpose. Some of the people who are "just plain bad" who wear the name while blasting drones in PvE still contribute to the corp. What this gentleman means to say is that we have been focusing on the FPS part of DUST so much we forgot that it is also an MMO that is meant for everyone to be able to enjoy even if they aren't the most competitive. There is no such thing as being bad, if you can't shoot then you can be a logi or even a dropship pilot, tank driver, or try stealth melee. Honestly the only people that need to be crackshots are assault and snipers, maybe scouts too.
Here at PXRXO, we won't judge your kdr, kills, wins, religion, political affiliation, gender, etc. We care that everyone has fun and we care about what CCP has planned for this game. We can tell you CCP doesn't want this game to be only enjoyed by shooters. CCP is trying to make a FPS style MMO that persists with EVE that anyone can enjoy. Anyone.

Kitten Commander wrote:Aegis Scientiafide wrote:What I've yet to see mentioned (that's absolutely essential to this argument), is just how many planets and districts are going to be involved in Planetery Conquest. If there are only a handful of planets, then yes I'd agree that quality will probably be more important than quantity; however, from what I understand EVE's scope is absolutely massive so I expect there to be tons of districts and planets involved. Any corp that wants to hold a considerable amount of territory will need a lot of manpower behind it. While a good 50 player corp could probably hold a single district effectively, anything more than that I would imagine to be really difficult. Hell, a small 5 district planet (the smallest planet size) alone would probably require about 300 dedicated players to hold (in case of multiple attacks). Even with a good 300 players, I'd say holding one of the largest planets (which I believe can have upwards of 16 districts?) would be a significant challenge, and may in fact be impossible.
To summarize, I'd say any corp that wants to build an empire would need lots and lots of members. So I don't find PRO's approach to be all that crazy.
Anyway, everyone's saying they received threats from CBJ's recuritment messages? I honestly don't remember any threats at all, and I joined like 2 weeks ago :s I joined because I wanted to join an active corp, and I've stayed cause I like being able to join a friendly 4 player squad any time I decide to log on and play. Honestly if I felt there was a threat in the message I probably would not have joined at all. There was definitely a threat but thats beside the point. The initial launch will have 250 districts available for control though this will probably increase as the game ramps up. If the top 30 corps claim about 80% of the districts, that would put it at about 6-7 districts per corp.
Which begs the question why "Why bother 'ganking' our districts?". Looks like there will be plenty to go around. Which begs yet another question "Do you need to organize a massive alliance to coordinate our eminent demise?" When I say "you" I mean the OP and his cohorts, I have nothing against you KC.
Seems to me it's overkill for such a trashy corp such as ourselves, right? The obviously most capabe corps such as imperfects, internal error, Unreal, and pfbhz sound have no problem dealing with us on their own right?
I do hope pfbhz gets an alliance soon, I'd like to see them comfortable in a district with the rest of us. Can always join our alliance guys, no hard feelings.
