Why not just have a bomber aircraft?

I would actually like that a bit more, maybe a 2 seat fighter jet-like aircraft that also has a hover mode, main seat pilots and fires a mg, second seat fires a bomb?

Well, most of us have more been suggesting a Gunship similar to the attack helicopters you can find today. TOW missiles would be excellent- Actually, look up videos of the VTOL gunships in Battlefield 2142. You'll see what I'm talking about. I'd still like to see some dedicated fixed-wing aircraft though, or "jets" as they're more commonly called.
