For the time period, technology, and guesstimated tactical evolution that would apply to this game the number of detonation, artillery, and explosive weapons suddenly seemed next to non existant to me I was kinda shocked when I thought about it.
So just some basic suggestions that could turn into more complex skill chains and racial focuses I thought some of these would be great additions.
1-Artillery vehicles- Yes, a magnetic propelled munitions artillery tank would rain down death on those in it's target zone. Targeting: make this a team vehicle, the shells can be deployed directly to designated beacons placed by team mates, or perhaps by ranged spotters with appropriate skills/equipment. Yes, it'd be nice to fire on your own, but for sake of balance I thought requiring team targeting would be best for something so devastating
Munitions: All kinds of shells, air detonation flechettes, concussion shells, emp, plasma, whatever your favorite flavor is.
Misc: they have to lock down to fire, like be immobile and set up for firing.
2-grenade launchers- Like a rotary hand held grenade launcher, Or perhaps some sort of bolt loaded long range grenade launcher (to make rate of fire reasonable) What's to say, this weapon should be a likely choice for any assault squad. Using this weapon should slow down player movement if it is in your fit. Limited ammo carrying capacity to promote and benefit those with logistical support. All grenades have arc and deviation to their firing trajectory no matter who you are, moving while firing affects this.
Munitions: Flechette, Explosive, emp, sensor rounds(they act like radars), jammer grenades(the ability to disable enemy HUD's would always be cool)
3-Missles and Bombs For the flyboys
Munitions: Explosive, emp, seem the most logical. High yield missles meant for ground targets should be dumb fire to promote player aiming. Homing missiles for anti air with appropriate targeting skills of course. As for the bombs I figure they should be very high cost, require a VERY expensive and SP intensive ship to even drop them. Fielding one should alert enemy team to it's presence, and as far as bomb types: Explosive, Neutron, EMP
I'm sure I could think of other ways to blow stuff up, but I'd like to put these ideas out there |
