I don't mind paying for development compensation for a game I wish to support, and Unreal 3's royalty licence is by no means cheap. I especially Do not mind a P2W that, should i happen to be short in RL i can still participate and progress in, in a meaningful capacity. However contributing 20 dollars monthly a for a Merc pack is steep. Especially when you refuse to use the Fused Locus grenades out of principle. Well that, and I already have 3 Dragonfly Dropsuits and Toxin SMG's per account.
I know slimier request have been made before, however I did not feel it was wise to Necro an older thread to a newer audience.
I disagree with Dust being pay to win. The only currencies you need are time and friends. A squad of well coordinated militias could easily take down dumb protos.
I do agree with the idea of a subscription to get passive SP boosters but in fairness they are already in the game. We just have them last a week. Also, the merc pack gives you 5 weeks plus 30 days of passive SP boost if you spend all the Aurum on boosters.
In summary:
- Subscription for 30 day passive boosters: Yes
- Price should be calculated to be the same as what you can get from buying the merc pack (I'd do the maths but I'm not at home to check figures).

Sorry OP, if you're spending $20 per month on Dust, and that is something you DON'T want to do, then you're doing something wrong.
As it stands, paying for Dust would be more around $8-$10 per month (waiting for 30-day booster to expire, then consuming all aurum on active + passive boosters BEFORE buying another merc pack).
Which is cheaper than an EVE sub. How about not buying aurum weapons? (if you do)
But as someone pointed out the militia bpos are a rip off, plain and simple.
Charging so much aurum for something that, if folks compared prices/stats with, is simply not worth anything.
Example: Thale Militia Scout vs. Dragonfly Type-1 Scout.
Pound for dollar, the thale suit just isn't worth the place in between both that it fell on.
Price should come way down for them. Maybe 1k aurum.
