So, over here: Bug Report a bug was reported that some people are getting an error that reads:
"You are not allowed to enter an order in a different region."
Now, prudence suggests that this could be a bit of inactive code left over from a previous and possibly unreleased build where the market was region-specific, and therefore just a bug.
However, it could also be a bit of code that is incomplete and disabled until ready for release, that is not quite as disabled as intended. If the latter is the case, then this is a sign that:
a) the market of dust will be region-specific to match the market in Eve, and b) mercenaries will therefore be able to travel between regions.
Which goes a long way towards Eve/Dust market integration, and gives me hope that we'll see more market enhancements sooner rather than SOON(tm) |

Yeah, I have no doubts that eventually we're going to have to region-hop to get the best prices on stuff (I was actually discussing this with some corp-mates last night), but this will most likely be a long way off still. |

The last big update for closed beta made the market location aware, and CCP has said before that eventually the dust market will link up with the Eve market. |

This would make sense and is one of the big reason market analysis can be taught at a college based on the EVE in-game market. It is quite fascinating... if you're into that kinda thing.
I'm just curious as to the mode that we mercs will travel around in. Will we be required to wait X amount of time in hyperspace sleep to reach a market region to buy something. Once its bought, then do we now have to contract an EVE player to ship it to a location for us to use in an upcoming battle?
And so many more questions... |

The travel is a good question. There is a bit of Eve Lore called "Interbus", which is an NPC corp. The idea is that Interbus provides transport for the non-capsuleer market. You don't see their ships in Eve, though.
My guess? Each region with Dust battles will have a specific station designated as a "Merc Hub" or somesuch, and we can specify that we want to move to a specific hub for X isk, and after the next down-time, we're there.
At least to start, this allows dust movement without really affecting Eve too much. It does allow for later enhancements, like putting a contract out for an eve pilot to move you for less money, or in less time. |

Would be neat if we couldn't get to some markets because it is controlled by an enemy. They basically stopped the trams coming into their system. This would give some idea of a front line in space control. It could require you to take X > Y > Z planets to have access to a certain market. Or pay an EVE pilot to hopefully get around security and get the items you want. |
