If you already have a headset for your computer, just grab an adapter like this.
If you just want to hear and send voice, that's the way to go. Extremely cheap; $5-10 bucks.
If you want to get in-game noise (which, currently, ain't all that flash), you'll need more equipment if you want to use a normal headset, or else get a gaming headset. |

Turtle beach P11, 59 bucks, just as good as my son's 200$ headset. Had em two years still like new and sound great! |

I've had lots of great success with Plantronics. I've had mine for over 8 years, it works on the PS3 flawlessly. Got a new one for my brother and he loves it. Got my fiancee one too and she gets good use out of it and hasn't had issues. |

Any of the Sharkoon headsets are great as well, they have quality for all budgets. I'm currently using the Sharkoon xtatic digitals. a lot of my friends use xtatic SPs. Amazon always has great deals on them. i've had mine for about a year with no problems. They are better than Turtle beach in my opinion.Check them out. Hope this was helpfull,feel free to ask about tech details as well. |

Im running a turtle beach xp400 wireless setup. My corp uses teamspeak for coms so i have 5.1 wireless from the ps3 and the mic chat bluetoothed to the pc. Works a treat as long as i dont fiddle with my pc settings. Lol |

It's not that cheap, but the Turtle Beach PX21s are what I use. They work with XBOX too, so you'll only need one mic for both

I also use Turtle beach PX21's, good games sound from PS3 and good chat both receiving and transmitting. It also has separate volume for both chat and game, which comes very handy.
But to be honest if your just after a mic, nearly all bluetooth headsets designed for mobile (cell) phones will work with the PS3 |
