All you do as a commander is wait for your team to make X amount of points and then drop in items/vehicles whatever. There is probably more but my eyes glazed over, thinking about staring at the map screen the entire match.
Thing is, if enemies have a commander and your side doesn't you're pretty screwed. Also if your commander isn't good/giving a f*** that match your pretty screwed.
Agreed. The app should not allow any interaction with gamepla. Just a fiat g tool or message app ect.
The division is doing the same gimmick crap with letting people fly drones on their phone and it's gonna suck .

The division is doing the same gimmick crap with letting people fly drones on their phone and it's gonna suck . You sure? having the option to be a battle commander, using a map to designate orders and such sounds like it can be cool idea in my mind, if executed properly. It would be somewhat like a futuristic game of chess.
Yes I'm quite sure and think about what your saying lol. Ccp shanghai implement something properly that other games havent? Not happening.

it'll be Dust's version of Battlefield 4's "Commander tablet app". And that would be bad how? Remember, Battlefield 4 stole the idea for Commander Mode from Dust.
That's not true. Battlefield had commander mode before they even announced dust.

because it sounds like it'd be 15v16 What happens if multiple squads with a vita user try to join a match. No one can join. No player should be able to call things in that other players can't. What happens to sqd leader orbitals and regular call ins? Deployables and such should cost isk. Allied turrets from the start would just shoot down any incoming vehicles from the other side. Not to mention no one has a vita. You shouldn't have cspecial combat abilities because you went out and spent extra money. that kind of mode is pay to win.

it works like the orbital call ins from eve to dust, sqaud leader puts out the call, the command user puts the orbital down.
Dust is pay to win. You spend more isk/aurum you stand a better chance than people who don't, statistically. This would just be another form of spending isk and even giving up a player on the ground for potential benefits to your squad.(potential because you have to rely on them to be competent and earn enough WP with one fewer player on the field.)
Did you even read?
Paying isk isn't pay to win it's something everyone has access too. Aurum isn't either. That's why aurum frees no advantages over regular equipment. Why should a vita app be given special abilities that not everyone has access too. We have a deployable screen already when we call in vehicles and orbitals why do you we need a separate one on a handhold that I repeat no one has them. They're like wiiU's atm
The app is better for letting people make fittings, buy and sell stuff and send messages or chat. this game is free to play. You shouldn't need to spend 200$ to access a special mode that gives you special abilities.
While we're at it make havs and dropships only operable from the vita.

Because that's stupid. you're taking functionality out of the game. in this way you're adding to it and giving sony a reason to put up with this game. Right, keep telling me that aurum is no advantage while you pay for your SP and FW point boosts. That is paying for an advantage that is not available to people who do not pay. The very definition of pay to win. You want to make deployables require a vita how is that not taking functionality out of the game. it's the same thing And as you already said it's stupid. Just like commander modes.
A small free app on the vita isn't going to make Sony want to support this game any more than it already does.-áWe have 10k players tops.-á
What's wrong with squad leaders calling orbitals now? Why do we need a special mode that only vita users can use? Why should they be allowed to drop crus and supply depots where ever they want when the regular players can't. (which you suggested)

Why do we need a special mode that only vita users can use? Why should they be allowed to drop crus and supply depots where ever they want when the regular players can't. (which you suggested) I never said "only" with a vita. Just for the commander slot, basically what CCP wanted to do with the commander suit. and you would never specifically require a vita, it would just be easier than navigating through menus while people try to kill you. And squad leads would still have full control in lieu of commander slot being filled, with a volunteer and vote system. It should be a measure of confidence from the squad. I also never said anything about cru's or full supply depots( I suggested temporary ones that cost squad WP and isk from the commander's pocket to deploy) As long as everyone has equal access to anything commander mode can offer. So apart from menus there's no actual point to having it on the vita? Or having the mode exist in general. Let's just fix the ingame deployable menu and axe the mode altogether.

It just adds a redundant mode into the game. I shouldn't be able to call in anything that no one else can and they shouldn't be allowed to do the same. What does a commander mode offer apart from exactly that. If it doesn't offer that what does it offer that makes it essential to spend resources making it when we have so many broken features already.
