The Dust community has already proven it has what it takes to pull of some amazing stuff. I'd like to see the momentum carried forward and create a place where the community can come together and have players generate content.
On this note, I will be creating the website NewEdenSports.com to facilitiate players that want to instigate community events centered around competitive play and Dust E-sports and put them in touch with people who can enable those plans.
I like to get the next tournament or sporting event off the ground as soon as possible and I know there are lots of folks in the community with some ideas, so let's make it happen.
Right now I'm looking for Web Designers, graphic artists, web coders and developers, and anyone who might be interested in helping get some more Dust sporting events off the ground. Please contact me in-game through my Eve account, Kane Spero, or e-mail me at [email protected] . I'll be upfront that I don't have the real-world money to compensate for you work, but this should be a fantastic opportunity for people to build those portfolios and help the Dust community at the same time.

I know we are in a holding pattern and folks are worried about what this new game or that will do to the Dust community while we wait for the next build. Let's be proactive and bring content to the players and show people that Dust 514 is going to be the place to be and use our talents to help make this a game that will last long into the future.

Btw isnt the arena mode suppose to be eSports oriented? where ppl can properly set things up? are we still gettin this or has this been pushed back even further?
I've always been an optimist, but I try to not let my guard down. CCP needs up to be on their case about what's working and what's messed up.
Giving players something to do was one of my main drivers for setting this up. I think it also served as a good wakeup call to what this game might be like for folks if you have to be ready to fight anytime, anywhere.
Arena mode is definitely something I think we should advocate for. CCP has to solve the big picture first I'd imagine, but from some of the things FoxFour has said it's on their radar.
For right now though it'll be up to us to get competitive sports off the ground. I've spoken with Eve-bet.com and they are willing to put any match up for betting if given enough notice, so just let me know if you have something in mind that you want folks to bet on. |
