It'll make you absolute hate where everything has gone since the original conception.

I suppose it's just early concept stuff

In fact, it was so terrible an idea that they're making Destroyers and Battlecruisers in Eve Online into Racial Destroyers and Racial Battlecruisers because it takes away from specialization, something we desperately need in Dust 514.

The general idea is that if you could fly it before, you can fly it after - provided you had the skill to do so before the change(s). If you have Battlecruisers 1 but not Caldari Cruiser 3/4 and Caldari Frigate 3/4(can't remember which anymore) you can't fly the Caldari Battlecruiser. You have to have the prerequisite skills first. You can fly any other battlecruiser you have the skills for, just not the ones you don't. At current I have all skills to level 5 so it doesn't apply to me, I can fly everything - but someone who didn't train those skills up before hand won't be able to use it despite having Caldari Battlecruiser 1 because they didn't have the necessary skills to get THAT skill to begin with.
