CCP should let us install a Ground Satellite Network that can actively track and scan enemy ships in a solar system. This data would then be relayed to our MCC. With enough war points, our EVE allies would have access to the data.
Why should CCP make this happen?
1. It encourages teamwork between EVE players and DUST players
2. It would help corporations defend their territory
3. It would increase the value of Mercenaries in the EVE universe
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
How would this all work?
1. It would require a dedicated skill(s) - A Mercenary would need to have the skills necessary to install the Satellite Network. An EVE pilot would need the necessary skills to receive the data.
2. It would draw CPU/PG from our MCC - The better the Ground Satellite Network, the more PG/CPU it uses from our MCC (Mobile Command Center).
When the entire planet is captured, our Eve allies can deploy a Permanent Command Center to maintain the Ground Satellite Network.

I like the concept. Something we can give back to EVE players. Our ground battles matter more, because our efforts would matter to their star battles more.
I like it. +1 |

It would work similar to the way we can call in orbital strikes.
I just feel like something like this needs to added into the game. EVE players think we're nothing more than worthless foot soldiers. If we had this kind power, we'd be a lot more valuable and EVE players would give us a lot more respect =/ |

good idea, very good in fact.
if both sides could relay data to eachother realtime to keep a hold on a system, that woudl be good. and yet a decently cloaked force could sneak in and damage the scanning abilities... then we'd have a total siege scenario on our hands, total warzone hell like we're supposed to be in |

Yeah, that would be a freaking awesome scenario right there. EVE players would be begging us to help them out. Mercenaries would never have a hard time looking for contracts either.
Hopefully we'll get an update like this in the near future, or at least when the PS4 comes out. |

right now skirmish matches last longer than most sub capital fights in EVE.
However right now Searching for opponents for these sub capital fights last FAR longer than our skirmish matches (usually)
Unless we have much longer matches or space becomes much much more crowded this would really not be all that helpful except on rare occasions where a corp match is going on while a fleet is roaming looking for kills and we have more than one eve pilot in orbit for support.
The ammo used to kill us is not the same ammo that is used on the internet spaceships.
I really like the idea but as of right now its not all that useful in either game maybe down the line once we can own planets form alliances and have all sorts of crazy fun with our eve counterparts. (i want to insert a team from my dust corp into a station without the opposing faction knowing it and giggle as my mercs make their station mine and i boot them all out of it)
But as it stands most of this is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way off but again i do like this idea. |

When the full game is released, i don't think "game modes" will even exist. We will probably have just as much freedom to roam & explore as EVE players do.
That being said, i still believe my idea could be a very important asset to any EVE corporation, especially when it comes to territorial wars in Null-Sec space. The data gathered from the satellite scans would include the location and fitting of ships that enter the solar system. This would undoubtedly provide a tactical advantage to our EVE allies.
Btw, I made this thread with a vision like this in mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzVjggarRns&list=SPFC7B99173F4DC31F&index=11
If EVE players can shoot laser beams at us from space, i definitely think CCP could implement this in near future, or at least when the PS4 comes out. |

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll try to compile a list of how this could be useful to EVE players. |

This would be a great option for those corporations that have connections to EVE, but what about those that dont? Are they left out in the cold, so to speak? |

The name doesn't make any sense. A satellite is required by definition to be in orbit. |

Indeed, I'll change it to "Radar" instead.
Edit: Actually i won't change it. Ground Satellite Dishes do in fact exist. |

Eve corporations could hire you to install & defend the Satellite Network. The Satellites would mostly help EVE players anyway, just like Orbital Strikes mostly help us Mercenaries.

Is this system of yours connected to a satellite? If no, then why call it satellite-anything? If yes, doesn't that go against the idea of it being on the ground?
Ah yes, you're right. i'll have to change it radar then :P Thanks for pointing that out btw

How could this benefit EVE Players?
1. Defensively, It could protect Miners in Worm-Hole/Null-sec space
2. Offensively, It could provide a tactical advantage to PVPers in Worm-Hole/Null-sec space
3. It could help Corporations defend territory
If you guys can add anything to the list please do so :) |
