CCP, et al.:
This just started today (Friday).
The game launches fine. I then join a squad with my corp mates. Their mics are working fine, and I can hear them through my television set. I then turn on my mic; it, too, activates fine. But the moment it turns on, I cannot hear my corp mates through my mic *or* through the TV set.
I've tried leaving the squad and re-entering it. I've tried cycling the mic on and off. I've tried switching between squad and team channels when in match. Nothing changes. I cannot hear my corp mates, period.
Worst of all, when I went to reboot Dust 514, the game also forced a reset of my PS3! It did this twice.
What can be done to fix this bug? Has anyone else experienced it? If so, are there any solutions to it? |

I haven't experienced this, but I think I remember a similar problem with other games. I'd suggest turning the headset on before starting Dust.
When you DO turn it on in-game, and have this bug happen, check the PS3 menu stuff. You know, the {Accessory} -> {Audio Device} or whatever they're called. Make sure that the input and output device settings are as they should be.
The reset business, I'm afraid I have no input on. Hopefully turning the headset on first stops this issue.
Good luck with it, bud! |

Yeah, that's the next thing I'll try the next time I turn on the PS3: Fire up the mic *before* going into Dust 514. What makes it so odd is, I never had this issue before with starting the mic after already being in Dust 514.
Oh, and I did double-check the input/output on the mic; things look cheery from the PS3 side of the equation. |

Im not sure anything changed friday, but ive had issues with the ps3 headsets. Both pulse and ear piece. If the ear piece isnt on and active before the game starts, the mic wont work, but I can hear fine. The pulse seems to almost never work with the mic for me.
I know others dont have this issue, so im sure I have a setting off somewhere. |

I've had this issue many times. What I've figured out is that if you are charging your mic then you join a squad, then turn on the mic there is a good chance it won't work. As a workaround I turn the thing on before joining a squad or leaving, then turning it on then rejoining said squad.
The pain in the *** is the new one where I can't seem to hear people while loading, nor they me. |

I have a similar problem but don't use an official Sony mic. Before the last update, I believe I downloaded it on the 2nd of March, I couldn't join voice chat at all. Tried resetting the game, the PS3, voice chat; tried playing with the accessory settings on the PS3 but mic and headset (turtle beach P11 and/or Soundblaster Omega Tactic 3D) work fine there. I run the game through a monitor and then output the sound through the AV cable so it was suggested to try it through a TV, which didn't make any difference.
Anyway post update it worked the first time I got into DUST, but when I logged in again later that day it was already broken - back to the same state previously where nothing worked and I couldn't fix it.
By "can't join voice" I mean that the green light comes up to say that I am connected to it, but I don't get the little speaker symbols next to anyone's name and I can't hear or speak to anyone.
I petitioned CCP about it before that update and was told that it is a known issue, they are working on it, and reminded me that the game is still in beta. On this note, I purchased a UVT as I was entering a match once and then it didn't appear, but I didn't bother complaining about it as it wasn't worth much, but then I bought a second one which is now useless as I can't join voice.
I don't know what changed on that one day that it did work and then didn't; apart from turning the PS3 off and on again I didn't change any connections etc at the time. The closest I have come to it working again since, was once a few days ago I got the speaker symbol for myself with a red cross through it (which I assume means muted). No other player had the speaker next to them (may not have had voice activated in that channel) but I couldn't unmute etc and when I joined a game it disappeared.
This is pretty annoying as I have to miss out on a lot of corp battles/corp squads because I can't communicate with my team, which is even more of an issue when you are running logi. |
