Do we have to open NEW THREADS on the same topic, twice every day? There is a reason for why this is against the Forum Rules.
Anyways:
- Don't call in vehicles you dont want to loose
- Don't call in vehicles where you're not sure it might not get hijacked
- Don't leave your vehicle when you're not sure it might not get hijacked
- Don't waste ISK on public matches (Train HAVs/DSes/LAVs in Corp training battles)
On top of that, don't come running to CCP because you messed up - you called in the vehicle, you left it somewhere unsafe, you spent the ISK/AUR - NO-ONE forced you to do so, certainly not CCP and not the other players. |

Everyone talks about this game like Pub matches are the end all be all. It isn't its designed like EVE. you can go solo if you want, but you are gonna get your tank stolen unless you are smart.
Just because these people ALSO accepted the contract to fight the enemy doesn't mean they are there to help you or be nice to you. If you think that then you have never been a subcontractor before.
Join a corp, do corp matches only and just summon your tank far far away from other subcontractors.
I work for a company and I manage our corporate accounts, we have in house sales reps and we have outside partners. both of them "should" be on the same side, but they are always out screwing each other over, why?! I dunno, because they feel like it, because they want the money. For the Lulz.
I actually get paid to deal with people who are on the same side screwing each other over. Not in the good sense.

Leave theft in, Welcome to Corporate Life - Let me know when you get to the point where the internal sales-people are screwing eachother over, and not just the outside contractors. (Why, yes, I loathe sales-people, why do you ask?) |

Thrillhouse Van Houten wrote:I don't get this whole "Welcome to New Eden" crap. Nobody can steal your ships in Eve...unless you put the thing on a courier ship and someone literally STEALS the whole kit and kaboodle. It isn't as simple as approaching your ship in a station and saying "yoink" as they undock, though...
That is pretty much what is happening in Dust. I'm not even a vehicle guy and I think it is annoying. My friggin Nissan Versa has a way to stop any random Jack from taking off in it. They are called car keys. Sure, a knowing enemy could crouch down under the drive shaft and hotwire the beast (more of an analogy to Hacking...isn't it?). I find it rather dubious that all these space age manufacturers haven't come up with a set of goddamn car keys? Or something even more high tech like telemetrics for access (retinal scanner, thumbprint pad, etc...)?
I also like the "if you aren't skilled into it, you can't drive it" solution. The only issue...what about militia LAVs, HAVs and DSs?
I still think they should just have lockable drivers seats unless the driver gets killed, in which case the vehicle could become open season...
I guess you have never left your ship in EVE. If you exit your ship in a capsule then that ship can be boarded and piloted by any player with the skill to fly it. Have a try at it sometime. Just like in EVE there is no lockdown of the tank/dropship/lav nor should there be. I'm surprised we have to hack vehicles of the opposing team to operate them as you need do no such thing in EVE. |

2. Welcome to New Eden.
Yes welcome to new eden, were security systems seems to be non existent. New eden were people are so tough they don;t value thier possessions, like titans and stuff. Friendly tank stealing actually makes no sense and is a potential exploit: What do you have to spend days training for tanks. All driver positions should be locked by default unless the following occurs: a) your tank is hacked by the enemy and then hacked back, bringing it to a "ownerless" state. b) You abandon your vehicle for more than X minutes. c) You are killed outside your vehicle.
I completely agree. This makes so much sense, I had assumed all along that this is how it worked. The driver seat should be locked to only the person who summoned the vehicle, and ownership can only be relinquished when the above conditions are met. |

I reward you with the "MOST UNNECESSARY COMMENT OF ALL TIME" and personally congralate your 1d1ot. +1 to op and ability to lock driver seat to everyone except owner.
Why is it unnecessary? Apparently there are some blueberrys that don't understand that they can earn triage points for healing a tank with a rep tool. It's possible that that one tool is the most useful tool in game and a lot of people can use the militia one even if they can't use a higher level one for gaining WP. If you pass squad lead to another squad mate out side the tank to call an orbital this works as well as calling it and losing the tank to a bluberry. |
