I would love a game mode based solely on objective control. Not that i don't like skrimish. It's just that sometimes it irritates me when matches end too fast cuz the enemy kills everyone. Not saying thats a bad thing. It is a very good tactic to win in skrimish. i would really like it if there was a different objective game mode where clone count wasn't there.
I really like matches where it is more of a strategic sort of how are we going to get that objective where that they have without giving up ours all in the time alas... this does not happen often because either my team or the other goes HAM and murders the other team.
Of course this would not be the same as skrimish. But i am not a game designer and have no ideas...
please post any you all have.
p.s. i want the old attack/defend skrimish back lol it was soooo much cooler |

I would really like a blending of multiple objectives. For example, I would love Skirmish to have Satellite Dishes (Whatever object you'd like), that could be hacked for an option to remotely hack the MCC.
There would be four dishes per match. Each dish would have a control panel sealed by a plate of steel. To hack these objectives, you would need special modules. Of course, someone could attempt to blow the plate off and hack it themselves. That would only serve to damage the plate and destroy the wiring, making the hackers job that much more difficult. He would need tools to repair the wiring, remove the shattered plate, and restore the objective to its full functions.
The take-away point for this is that there should be roles for everyone to fill equally. Creating some sort on battle field hospital, where logibros can get free LAVs, drive around and put out drop uplinks would be great. Anything that will involve people in the many aspects of the battlefield. |

I would like to see these matches be focused more on maintaining control of the null cannons than cloning out the other team.
But then again, I would also like to see more people in face to face combat as opposed to 80% of the players in a match sitting red-lined somewhere with sniper rifles too.
sadly, I'm not sure that either is going to happen.

If we made kills less important then snipers would have less of a reason to be as or now well places redline snipers can win the match take away clone count and now it is the team with most agressive objective players that win
Also bf3 did a good job of making objectives important It felt like we needed them just my 0.2 isk |

agreed, cept for the bf3 part because I've never played it so I have to take your word for it.
now, I do have some good games when sniping, I won't deny that, but that's not all i do either so I understand that snipers have their role and their place, i simply don't think that a team full of snipers will ever really be a competitive team in the sense of capturing/holding the objective which is what the battle is about...
think about it, if our MCC is down to 4 bars and the enemy's MCC still has shields left and we win by cloning out the other team, did we really even come close to the object of the battle?... no, hell no we didn't.. If we get cloned out and our MCCs have relatively close amounts of damage to them?, then yes, we did.. it's all relative and the teams with the squads whose players work together are almost always the victor as far as I can tell unless simply outmatched by their opponent, but even then, that's an honorable loss.
if all they know how to do is kill stuff and have no concept of working/striking/defending as a team, then they should limit themselves to playing ambush which I don't play very much for exactly that reason.

Having clones depletion is good .

Personally, I'd like to see, when the player counts increase, at least a 50% increase in clone counts for Skirmish, and probably similar on Ambush. Adding a "pure" objective mode (or one with a stupidly high clone count) would also be something I'd be strongly in favour of. |

it would be too easy to keep them objectives from far with snipers and tank snipers or with remote explosive campers once you got them
if your camping spot has been discovered if you go in the same spot just so you can be cheap again you deserve to lose by any means
clone depletion is against campers , removing it it would make the game a safe haven for campers

Most maps have at least a couple of points that CAN'T be easily camped at long range. And if the enemy knows the likely camping spots, they can wipe you out with counter-snipers, or at least keep you busy, while players with well-fitted Scout or Logi suits can move in and clear the REs (you know they can be shot and detonated at range, right?) then hack the objective. Or you can have someone in a throwaway fit suicide to clear the objective for the next guy if you don't want to wait - it's not like your clone count matters in a high-count battle. |

My guess is that if income is scarce enough, and people want to fight with their best stuff, at least one side will not want to waste clones and many more matches will end through MCC death rather than clone death. More people will be death averse as a result of cost of battle with high end gear. |
