It should reduce the CPU usage by 5% per level. |

I agree. The only reason I haven't trained up grenadier yet is because all you seem to get is new nades. And, I think it makes sense that learning about nades would allow you to use less cpu.

All skills should provide some incremental benefit other than unlocking stuff. That way when you do use lower tier equipment you gain a benefit.
Same stuff that happens in EVE. |

I think a different skill that takes down its CPU would be better. |

Let's make it reduce the detonation time by one second per level, I totally miss getting blown up by three second fuses. |

lowering the fuse time takes the skill out of cooking a grenade. Lowering the CPU usage by 5% per level is a subtle enough change that it isn't breaking the game, and it allows people to make some different fittings using grenades. |

Would it not mean it blows up as soon as you pull the pin?

Or, it could increase grenade-throw range. With this, the default range would be lower, so AV grenades don't always outrange LAV blasters. |

Lowering the CPU usage is probably the only feasible perk to skilling up grenades seeing as they do some serious damage.
This is valid. And same goes for any skill that just unlocks stuff...
Drop uplinks, demolition, suits, and so on.
Doesnt have to be CPU reduction though. Could be enhancing the range of blast radius or detection for demolition for example. Or % reduction in spawn time for uplinks. For suits, i already made 2-3 thread with suggestions such as bonus in sprint speed for scouts, extra bullets or damage for light weapons for assault, armor HP bonuses for heavies, CPU or PG reduction for equipment for logis etc...
But hey.... No word from CCP so far on that request that is what ? 4 build old ?
Guess they have their hands full.. But all those little things are needed to feel like the game is polished... i can't recall that many skill in eve that just unlocks stuff and does nothing else. |

Basically at level v anything you did 6 seconds prior to throwing the grenade would be reversed by a flux capacitor paradox, and you would go right back where you started prior.
How about no.
That would mess with me so hard, with every skill point into it I'd have to get used to the timing again. |

With all the ideas being thrown around, I suggest we make Grenadier have a 5% reduction to CPU usage of grenades per level like the OP suggested, while having a cadre of support skills. For example (based on the other posters' examples):
Packed Grenadier (5x): Increases grenade damage by 3%/level Grenade Rapid Explosion (5x): Decreases fuse time by 10%/level Grenade Dispersion (5x): Increases grenade explosion radius by 5%/level
Since Grenadier, being the main skill, has a training mod of 4x, I reasoned that all support skills should have their mods a step up. |

Good thinking here by expanding plausible skills. |
