My wife plays as a Heavy and her biggest bane and killer, the infamous shot-gunner STELLI0S, is... her favourite player by far. You should see that joy when he is on an opposing team. While it may sound a bit kinky, you should try and copy it. Develop some love for your enemies. Feel-better guaranteed.
That's because your wife is mellow woman and an uber fatty HMG assassin |

But yeah, try strafing. The spread of a shotgun seams to be more vertically inclined, sort of like a standing equal sign. It has very poor horizontal spread so if you strafe then it should completely miss you, unless they're good at tracking. |

Additional protip, although one that you're probably doing anyway: Spam bullets, especially if you have an HMG. Thanks to the magic of GÿåGÿàGÿåUnreal Engine on PS3GäóGÿàGÿåGÿà at close range it causes a severe drop in framerate that can be an incredible pain in the ass for a scout who is trying to twitch-kill you. |

it's easy to dodge a scout. You gotta concentrate on moving - not on returning fire when you are face to face with one. Don't just turn corners too - hop from around the corner. Ferquently a scout can you see your sig on the map and they know you are coming from around the corner. All they gotta do in this situation is to point the gun and squeeze trigger as you are thoughtlessly walking into their crosshair.
Mind you, if the scout misses their first shot with SG they are well on their way spiralling down. All you need to do is to zig and zag and be just a few feet away from them for the SG to miss most rounds and those that hit will not be 100% effective. |

Nice thing to get good at if you play with SMG/HMG loadouts (or anything with a large capacity) is going in and out of ironsights while dealing with bunnyhoppers. When you get a little spaz near you (or a group), you can hose them down from the hip, then pull up your ironsights for the easy shot when a) they decide to put it all on a kamikaze run and make a beeline at you or b) they decide they can't win and make a beeline for the nearest bit of cover.
With groups, if you get caught off guard, just hose them down from the hip to put people back on their heels and buy yourself some breathing room, then pull up your sights to aim at the biggest threat and take him down. Of course, any of this only works if you know how to strafe and where your nearest piece of cover is. Because just standing out in the open with nothing but a gun as your cover isn't the best idea.
That being said, one of my favorite tactics for dealing with ambush shotgun scouts as a big dumb heavy is to walk into precarious areas, have them run up behind me, and my two squadies that are always tailing me gun him down like the pest he is. Nothing deflates ambush cqb rushers like good teamwork and just a little bit of camping/smart use of terrain.
Shotgun scouts are what they are, you have to figure out what's most effective for you to do to deal with them. Bunnyhoppers, on the other hand...just because we have to put up with them now doesn't mean the Devs shouldn't find a way to fix that particular annoyance in the future. Maybe put a delay time where you actually have to land after a jump. That would fix that problem right up, and I'm sure the player population would a) cheer them loudly and boisterously or b) go back to Call of Duty. |

I once posted a small post on how to deal with us scout shotties, so I'll post it again here:
Denak Kalamari wrote:Now, the best thing to do is to simply keep your distance. If you don't allow the scout to get close enough for his shotgun to be effective, you'll rip through his weak armor and shields in no-time. That isn't really an option with heavies, so my advice is keep your guard up. Watch for any possible places where the scout can flank you and get a jump for you. Another way is to back him into a corner with no opportunity to run, or force him into a close-range engagement with you up front. They might try to strafe in these situations, but if you can keep their crosshair on him he'll be dead.
Another crucial thing is to NEVER GO AFTER THEM if a scout shoots you and runs away. Not will you never reach him, 9/10 times he will be waiting behind a corner, ready to mow you down. A tip to counter this is to outsmart the scout, you start flanking and if you're fast enough, you catch the scout off-guard and score an easy kill.
Finally, if you are hacking something or you're otherwise stationary and see a red dot near you on the map, stop immediately what you're doing and deal with him. Then after that, I recommend you quickly relocate.
For short, scout shotties rely on stealth and lure tactics to score kills. If you keep your guard up, think like a scout, deny him flanking or cover and be unpredictable, you will make a scout's life a lot harder.
And on top of that, when in a 1 v 1 with a scout shotgunner in his optimal range, the best advice is to just dodge as much as possible and keep firing. Plus mass drivers are really effective. |

She either likes showing me her butt, or she doesn't want me to see her front. Nice side boob though. If Zylajn gets to have side boobs, then I demand the ability to make my male char eat a lot of twinkies and get fat so that I can have side moobs.
You should go for what my cousin calls the triple threat..
