The honest answer to a lot of this is we don't know.
There as much speculation around some of these questions to fill an entire forum with but ill try and give you some idea of where things will go.
Are there any market items that will crease to exist unless players create them?
Probably yes, the EvE market works on a very simple supply and demand, if there are weapons or moduals with no demand there is a good chance nobody will make them. having said that, if you want an item there is a good chance others do as well, if there is a demand for it, no matter how small, someone in EvE will be making it.
Will there still be items sold that no players have to create?
Probably, maybe yes. Officer items (those that have a fancy name, short list below) Are not made but can only be acquired through salvage. There is no way to manufacture these weapons in EvE but once the market opens up, those people who pick up an officer weapon in the field, if they are not skilled to use it will sell it on the market. So nobody will be making them, but they will still be for sale in limited quantities.
Balacs Gar-21 (AR) Krin Sin-11 (AR) Thales Sniper Rifle Calcs SMG Gustons FG Gastons HMG Wolfmans Pistol
And for any items that may be only obtainable by crafting via Eve, how will those items get to the dust mercs for purchasing? I know even has an intricate jump gate shipping cross space thing to deal with.
I think what your asking about here is the regional markets within EvE, you have to be in a specific station to buy/collect the item being sold at that station. if so I see this going one of two ways.
Firstly the Dust market will not be regional (you will be able to buy from the market no mater what station your dust merc is in and bam the item is yours.
Secondly dust mercs can choose to base them selves at a station and can move freely from 1 station to another.
regardless how it works, you wont be limited to what you can buy based on where you are located in New Eden.
Where "Are" mercs at any given point? Are they on a planet? a War Barge? What if they're not in a corp, or battle and just at their lobby room. Where is that thing floating around in space and how can they get to / get the items they want to come to them?
Your Merc living courters are on a space station in EvE as best as I can tell.
The Lobby room/waiting room befor a battle is on the War Barge floating in space above the planet you are about to attack.
The MCC is a small deployable ship you use to stage your attack from on the ground.
MCC parks in the War Barge, War Barge parks in Station
As for items and how they get places, I remember reading something about nano tech and how everything in dust was made from nanites. So you don't really buy the item, but a 1 use blueprint that allows a thing on the War Barge to make the item you bought. Think 3D printing. How true to the lore that is I'm not 100% sure but you buy stuff in the market and on the ground you can shoot people, above and beyond that i'm not overly interested in how it got from the market to my hands on the field.
Anyway hope that helps out a bit. |

because the secondary market would allow people to sell AUR items, INCREASING the number of aur sales. people can buy aur goods and sell for isk.
As for the EvE/DUST market, I agree but for different reasons, i think there being to cautious about this market, no matter how you introduce the 2 it will hurt. I say rip the band-aid off quickly and let the pain settle quickly instead of dragging it out. But this topic has been covered in greater depth in many other posts. |
