When the game is so centered around cqc there's no reason for anyone to play overwatch classes especially when you can just use a tank and accomplish the same thing but never die. Either the maps need to be not terrible or the laser and sniper rifles need to be buffed. |

And heavies/HAVs? Seriously? I can't get a single game without there being a tanker that goes 30/0, and heavies are just rare, so that doesn't mean they don't do anything worthwhile while the ARE in games.

It's sad that my only deaths in a Sagaris have been from AV grenades and enemy Sagaris'. |

Heavy's are rare? lol. Everyone and their mom picked up a Heavy suit because of how easy it is to get kills with the first 2 suits on any other suit in the same tier. Once other suits reach A-series+ however, Heavy's have problems. |

Counter sniping,AV hunting, suppression, harassment, scouting, taking out targets that are suppressing me, these are all things I have seen snipers do, so sniping is actually one of the more useful play styles if done properly. |

No, go ahead and totally change your argument from "the game is centred around cqc so there's no reason to be a sniper" to "heavies are more important than snipers".
I've seen plenty of snipers set themselves up to have line of sight to objectives and take out or severely cripple attempts on those objectives. |

On topic: what about cqb snipers, they're not always in B.F.E. Recon is an important role if you're a team player who can communicate effectively (and stay alive in a paper thin suit). I know at least one of my corp mates disagrees but they're not all snipacus gayarcus, especially when they know their role. |

Never changed my argument. Game is centered around cqc heavies are cqc, heavies are more important. Simple logic, guess it wasn't simple enough.
It's great that you've seen that happen. I'm truly impressed and in awe of your game experience. Doesn't change the fact that the sniper would have contributed 10x more if he played heavy. |

A sniper can pin an objective down by himself with the only way to get him is by also sniping, a tank has to be close to the objective which means he has a higher chance of death.
A laser with elevation can pin half the map down, and can wreak a team.
I've done both and that's with basic fits. Tools are there, use them smart and they're amazing. |

Well when you use a Shield based Dropsuit like i do (Heavy Type II / Heavy B) And light armors such as Scout or logi a Laser rifle EATS through them.ITs just not meant to be effective on everything.But good location and dead accurate precision make the lazer rifle a good weapon.
And snipers? you obviously havnt played a A/B/C map with a fat and trying to reach another objective.You just get Stung everywhere until you die. ....
A weapon is only as effective as its users skill.... |
