This has come across my mind a couple of times. When your in a match, and you see an player of the opposing team call in a Lav ,Hav or dropship. so you rush over to kill them and seize their asset. You successfully complete the hack and take control of said vehicle and manage to keep it safe throughout the battle. I believe that asset sbould now become yours. I mean you worked hard and risked your life to acquire it so it should be yours along with all modules currently equipped on it. But obviously if you don't have the skill requirements to operate the asset it becomes unusable until you acquire said skills.

Possibly could become Loot. As opposed to Salvage, Loot could be whatever you can take, and hold, during a fight. |

Not a bad idea in general, though I don't feel it's needed either.
I could see potential issues arising with dropships and tanks where players will be so intent on stealing them and keeping them safe that it would influence the game in a bad way (especially once assets can be sold on the open market). |

Ive wanted this since early beta If you can hack a vehicle and keep hold of it till the end of match (or if other request I have about allowing you to call pick up for vehicles when the vehicle extracted) then it should be yours.
Also you should only be able to get into vehicles if you got the skills to use it and can only call extraction of vehicle when your inside it so if you cant pilot the vehicle then it will probably be taken by a blueberry who can or taken back or destroyed.
Vehicles need work when it comes to piloting them to make stealing them possible with out corp mates stealing them and calling in extraction (but maybe that is a good thing to happen) |

If people do that then fine I think yeah it is bad for pub matches true but even now if a dropship or tank pilot are in danger they hide in redline and never come out anyways.
With my extraction idea this is avoided |

99% of hacked vehicles are free LAVs.
Why? Because pilots who pilot vehicles worth something to them will pilot them to the bitter end. I am a prime example. There is no bloody way I am leaving that pilot seat until my dropship is either in flames or my battle commander in a corporation battle demands that I eject, now.
The 1% where you manage to hack a tank or dropship that is worth actually keeping, you probably don't have the skills to use. Think about it. Modules, turrets, the vehicle itself, PG/CPU requirements (Circuitry and Combat Engineering).
The chances of you finding a good vehicle to hack, and also having the exact skills required to call it in another game, is slim. And slim is being generous.
When the Marketplace is open, though, that's a whole new story. I would love to sell "Exmaple Core's Lost Tank" for 10 times the price just to receive some hate mail. |

We were discussing this idea in another thread and came to the conclusion that you should be able to call in an RDV to remove unwanted vehicles (that you are owner of or have hacked) from a game and so if you manage to hack a vehicle and remove it from the battlefield successfully, it becomes an asset/salvage or whatever you wanna call it.
I suppose in the same sense, if you don't have the hacked vehicle recalled but decide to play with it in the same game instead, it should become an asset only if you manage to keep it alive for the duration of the match. |

I think they should be added to your salvage, or as Hagintora said, as "loot" for the hacking player - IF the vehicle in question survives the battle. I'm pretty sure that, in the current state of the game, if your tank gets hacked and survives the battle, you get it back even though you let the enemy team steal it from you. |

I could see a salvage option working where 1-2 battlefield items can be seized no more than that as not to have people only focused on seizing assets and not fighting the battle. The RDV idea sounds really good also. Another that came up is the fact that currently if I do hack someone's vehicle and it manages to survive to battle it gets returned
I cant possibly imagine this happening in a battle.. so thats why I purpose being able to sell it on the player market |

To receive the hacked vehicle at the end of the match you should have to either successfully extract the vehicle from the field or the vehicle must survive the match AND the team must win the battle. In the even the vehicle is still on the field at the end of the battle and your team has been defeated the vehicle should go back to the orginal owner. You can't legitimately say you took their stuffs if you don't control the battlefield at the end of the match
This would help resolve the issue of more people focusing on hacking rather than winning because if they don't win there's no point. |

Agreed. Isn't this New Eden? If you get killed before getting into your 2mil HAV and I hack it, it should become my property. Same goes for any unique LAV I call in, if you kill me and hack it, its yours.
Makes no sense that they get their tank back at end of match if the guy that stole it doesnt get it blown up. Did I meet him at end of battle and politely give it back to him with a "No hard feelings"?

VERYYY rarely do i hack an enemy vehicle even after removing the intial threat from the drop area. I just like to watch them 'splode . Although i suppose if you know its a blinged out tank , in the future i'd hack it, keep it alive and then sell it on the market once we can do that. |

This idea is AMAZING. Especially when you can sell these items that you "stole". Maybe there could be a way were you can pick up vehicles in battle so you can sell them. You are a mercenary right? There're no rules. |
