Those poor souls are having every problem we've been talking about on the forums. Except they are showing them in a high profile way to all their listeners.
The staff members are putting a good face on it but they keep having the same issues as new staff people log on. |

lol...comes back to people saying it wasn't ready for Open Beta...smh.
Not surprising really. Most articles previewing DUST just bashes it, so these guys trying to shrug it off, and have a good time, just end up showing the shortcomings of the beta.
I stopped watching that stream a while now. |

I just finished watching the stream, it was interesting but mainly seeing how new people fair in the game- badly. It's great to have this exposure on a large site, however, watching them struggle and be confused will further deter new people from joining. Maybe tomorrow (or sometime in the coming days) we can get members of this forum/community to join the stream, comment, answer questions and support the potential new players. We need better exposure so that others can see why we put in insane amounts of hours in New Eden.
It wouldn't take much time, in fact you could have it on while playing Dust or doing other random things, but the stream is badly lacking in solid information. Just having a few community members on the stream would help immensely.
We need to get the word out on why Dust is so great. |

Several of us have been online trying to answer questions and generally nudge them in the right direction. I know Grideris was trying hard to help and squaded up for a while. I was trying to answer questions while my son ran with them for some time but they had little interest in team work or learning the game. The best host(?) so far was Justin and it turns out he already plays EVE.
Interesting idea but the execution wasn't the best. Next time they should approach the community and look for members to tag along. |

I think that's a great idea, building a bridge between the dust community and "outsiders" the question is, does the dust community want to open their arms to a horde of new players? It would be great, and the flood of bodies would rapidly increase but the potential for broken hearts and tears is high (maybe that's a good thing).
Whatever the case, Dust needs to find a way to make a name for itself (ie. video mags/sites, streams, more tourneys that are broadcast on major sites, and a twitch.tv presence*)
*As it stands, Dust has almost no visibility on twitch, in fact most days there are no streams running which is confusing because that other crappy massive map mmofps averages +200 viewers at any give time. Even if it only brings in a few 100 viewers, that right there is an increase in exposure.
Do we ant to increase the visibility of Dust in the video game market? I would love to see it, what about everyone else? |

As great as I think Dust is, I don't think there are many people who would stick around given the current state of things. Maybe next build? I know full well that when I feel this game is worth it I will make all of my friends play it, even hopefully pay for it like I plan on doing. |

You're thinking of MGR:R (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance).
But yes, they have some bad gamers on staff. They also have some people who don't bother to follow through on a poor tutorial's casual glossing-over of key elements of the game, and assume that they'll be fine without trying to get a handle on the game's unique systems. Because seriously, MGR's controls are quite unique for the genre, and need a MUCH better tutorial. And DUST needs people to have a pretty solid primer on what to expect when coming into it while it's still in the current state. It's pretty good, but it needs to make a LOT of its systems more clear if it wants widespread acceptance as a console FPS, whether they tack the MMO label onto it or not (and I still say it's not MMOFPS). |

Chromosome was meant to be the huge bug fixing build and as such we for almost no new content. If they release ANOTHER one of those I will stop playing DUST for a few months. |

We need to get the word out on why Dust is so great. I've done my fair share of complaining but I wouldn't do that publicly on sites trying to advertise like the escapist.
In fact, I would do my hardest to explain the concepts of this game. Unfortunately , CCP things scheduling all the streams in neither eu or Americas prime time, I just get to read the aftermath
CCP, you are trying to keep things so fare for the working man but all your events almost intentionally happen when I'm dead center in the middle of my workday which is 6am est to 7:30pm mon-friday |

I can understand people being worried about new players having trouble learning how to play the game, dust isn't exactly straight forward but this is a good thing stupid people are annoying they can find other games.
If its a matter of wow look how much new players get stomped when they first starting playing dust, its hardly unique to dust most new players to battlefield don't go positive in their first couple of days or realise what half their equipment does or where not to stand.
I haven't watched any of the streams so maybe your all talking about lag or frame rate issues, or a few bugs. |
