I'm a LVL 5 vehicle driver. i earned my way up to the point where i can drive high lvl HAV's. Theoretically, one HAV pilot can call in 5 2million isk tanks in a corp battle. this is stupid. a vehicle that requires certain skills to use, should require the same skills of any circumstancial pilot. That means no blueberry who just showed up can hop into my Sagaris if he doesnt have the same skills I do. Sure, shield skills and turret skills aside, i can deal with, but i want it required that the drive a sagaris, a person needs Vehicle lvl5 and Caladari HAV lvl 4, or watever it is. |

This would eliminate the point of hacking a vehicle.
I realize the pain, you spend all the sp to get into the tank only to have a blueberry steal it. Maybe there should be a way to "lock" the tank to all but squad members or something |

I once raised a similar point in regards to hacking a vehicle. It wouldn't eliminate the point of hacking a vehicle since in reality, there currently IS NO POINT. You hack a vehicle and then what? You now have a LAV, HAV, DS in your posession that you got no WP for hacking, there's a chance you have no idea how to properly maneuver one (especially dropships) And in all likelihood, if you managed to kill the sap who called it in and hacked it, he probably called in a crap Militia vehicle and is probably even setting up to blast it since it's of no consequence to him if he looses it.
What's more, a large majority of people don't even bother hacking vehicles. The simply blow it up even if it's a high level tank. You get WP for blasting one to bits AND you've just effectively robbed a guy of his transport.
There really does have to be some way to prevent other people from driving the vehicle you called in yourself. Watching some random blueberry fly off in my dropship without any skills or knowledge on how to fly it really pisses me off when I see it finally crash into the side of a building or hill. 400k ISK just went up in smoke and it wasn't even because of me. If I want to call in a 400k ISK dropship then I want to loose it when I'm the one flying. I know how to save my bird when it's in trouble, I know how to fly it to safety and above all, when I go down, I go down with a bang. |
