Or Dissidia 012: Duodiecium Prologus? And how about the Planetside 2 beta last year? This scene look familiar? And the money you spent here was voluntary, not necessary for you to get to play. If you regret your purchases, that's your fault for spending your money on an unfinished product, not CCP's. Also, you are getting far to excited over this. Let it play out. If you want to leave, then leave. No one is twisting your arm here. Leave and come back when you feel it's lived up to your expectations if it ever does, but don't blast others for having faith in CCP just because you feel you were let down. YOU are the one keeping you here, go play COD since you feel it's so "epic from the start". Go play Planetside 2. Play BF. Hell, play ANYTHING ELSE, but unless you are going to be constructive, quit mucking up the forum with pointless whining about how bad the game is and how slow it's progressing even though you spent money on it. That does absolutely nothing to help things along here. You want it to progress faster? Maybe quit starting arguments like this so we can have constructive conversations without getting distracted by this kind of BS. I contribute constructively all the time. Check my threads before you open your mouth kid If you pay ******* attention to any or all of IWS posts he is the one that shows up and bashes people that create threads. Its not the other way around. If someone has issue with CCP he swoops in as super CCP fanboi to say "Its just a beta". How is that constructive? It's not if you are being honest. So its not me that starts **** with iws and is CCP fanboi-ness. He sucks as this game and spends his free time in an academic circle jerk theory crafing dust **** no one cares about. I'm just here to call him out on it. The reason I mention "paying for beta" is CCP themselves said (and I paraphrase as i dont have quote on my pc) that "no one should pay for a beta". So CCP assured us we would get aurum refunds until go live. Devs on irc told us "its not a offical release" or "it's not full release". When we moved to TQ there was no aurum discussion or notice from CCP. All they said was no more resets. Resets always had to do with sp never aurum. Once ccp got called on it what did they do? no public statement or dust forum post. They simply changed the wording of purchase agreement after the fact. Yes, you have had plenty of constructive posts over the last several months. You are also contributing to threads that do nothing to progress the game. Discussing how bad a beta is doesn't do a thing to improve it. To improve the game, all you can do is post constructive posts and wait. If you don't want to wait, that's not CCP's fault. IWS does pop up to remind people it's a beta quite often. Because people keep making threads like this that do nothing to try to improve it. Threads like this draw people away from threads that are actually attempting to submit ideas to improve the beta. It is distracting away from people actually trying to fix things. It may not be constructive when IWS posts that it is a beta, but at least he only does it when a thread is derailing into a pit of "this game isn't as good as it's supposed to be, QQ, QQ, QQ" CCP has been bad at alerting us to changes that they make, but continuing to complain about it weeks and months after it was done doesn't help anything. If you want the game to be good, don't QQ about it. Try to fix it with constructive posts. Every QQ post you put up is one more distraction from the constructive posts you have put up. You want the game to get better? Quit making people waste their time by responding to your whining when they could be coming up with ideas to fix existing issues. Baaal,
I agree with a lot of what you are saying. About posting constructively for the good of the game and the community and whatnot. But I also sympathize with what I feel like Beers is trying to communicate: frustration and disappointment with the current state of the game and the lack of clear expectations for what is to come. And when.
Given all that, would you consider it constructive or not to make posts asking CCP to be more open with information, plans, ideas, deadlines, etc? I personally would feel much better if, even lacking updates and polish and new content, CCP would do a better job of telling us what's going on.
Are they on track with the current Sprint cycles (assuming they are even using the same processes of game development as Eve), are they changing plans regarding content based on testing? What can we expect in coming patches? What would they like to achieve in the long term?
Some might suggest that this kind of info released from a company to the public would compromise thier business position, but if that is not the reason for the great lack of info and feedback, I'd like to know what is.
