CCP Eterne wrote:To be honest, it's a big dev blog and we're talking about the best ways to present it to a broad range of people.
So then, how about until you have it ready, you don't talk about it.
Because all these delays for artwork, or editing, make you look incompetent.
If your art team can't do their job on the suit blog done in a month, replace them.
If your web team can't put together the work on time, then fire them and get some competent staff.
If the dev team can't figure out how to get the information out, go and have a meeting and sort your **** out, instead of posting teasers about your teasers.
This stuff isn't that complicated, but you guys act like you are working on cold fusion.
The more of these types of posts I see from the devs, the lower my expectations get for Uprising, and boy are those expectations already very, very low.
Foxfour, to you in particular, I really hope you have thick skin, because if this build is not epic as you keep claiming, you are going to get savaged on here for all your hype work. |

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:I have it on good ears there is a dev blog this week concerning the new skills hopefully.
There is also the video cast of CCP's Past Present and Future.
Hopefully should not be a word that gets thrown around by the devs on IRC.
Either the blog is ready or it is not, they need to stop trying to build hype for things that are not ready.
@ Eterne, FoxFour:

Everything that follows the header "A Humbler, Stronger CCP" applies to now.

But enough talk from me. We all know that much quoted phrase, GÇ£ItGÇÖs not what you say, itGÇÖs what you do,GÇ¥ that will make the difference here. From now on, CCP will focus on doing what we say and saying what we do. That is the path to restoring trust and moving forward.

No more talk. Either put it out or just stop talking about it like your CEO said you would two years ago.
That hubris your boss was talking about, you guys are suffering from it again. Stop drinking the cool aid. |

Sloth9230 wrote: It's one thing to get impatient, it's a completely different thing to ask them to fire people. Seriously, who dafuq do you guys think you are deciding who should or should not get to keep their job? If CCP wants to fire people then cool, but Buttnaked is in no position to be making such comments, the audacity of some people...
I don't know what world you live in, but in the real world, if you can't do your job, you don't get to keep it.

I suppose, but given that there has not been a change, maybe the people in charge don't have the balls necessary to make one.
Bottom line, if CCP can't meet the deadlines they set for themselves, they need to change something. Staff, organization structure, or maybe leadership, but something has to give when they cannot produce some screenshots in a weeks worth of workdays.
Keep in mind, they next build has to get sent to sony within the next couple of days. If they haven't finalized their art assets by now, this build is going to be a mess. So if the art department is still slaving away on the build, then the dev blogs are the absolute last thing that CCP should be worrying about.
If that is the case, they should not even be talking about dev blogs. At all. |

Like, in a small paragraph what is the issue. From what I can tell we said we would do a dev blog, it has not made it out yet. Is that the issue?
I'm not sure if I can compress it into a paragraph but I will attempt it.
The people who remain on these forums and in game right now are the most committed that you could find. They absolutely believe in the concept you guys are trying to put out. They are digging through the test servers looking for info, any info because of how much they can't wait for your content. As such, you should do your utmost to not abuse that commitment. You should not promise something, or even hint at it, if you cannot be assured that it will be done on time.
If something is done, and about to be posted, drop a teaser the day before if you really must. But if you don't know when something is going to be ready, please don't mention it. I understand that you are proud of what you have done, and want recognition for it, and also that you want us to be eager for what is coming next. But we don't need to be hyped up, or sold on the next build. We are already fully prepped and ready to go.
Finally, it appears as if your various departments lack co-ordination. If the marketing team doesn't know what the devs are doing, and neither group has any clue on what is going on in the art department, there is an issue there that needs to be addressed internally. It reflects poorly on your ability to manage what must surely be a large and disparate group of people into a complex project.
Sorry I couldn't get it down to even two. Trimming it down to just that leaves out so much more.
