Got pushed back by a Proto Forge in less than 8 seconds, 6500 shields (With Surge Hardener on) gone in 3 shots.. I was lucky to get my reps on and reverse out the way I came, hell, he was taking out the infantry around my tank too xD So he "pushed you back" but you backed away and didn't get blown up. Then what happened? How did this story end? You probably rolled over him and killed him and 20+ of the clones on his side. What was your K/D ratio at the end of the match? I mean honestly. See, this is the thing that these tank people never talk about. There is a reason why you are rolling in a tank. They absolutely own the field. There is a reason why on some skirmishes you hide them out of bounds (especially the defender side of Line Harvest Skirmish so that nobody can hit them and have 3-4 snipers sitting there next to you and probably are one yourself. Because if anybody does manage to find your tank sitting there with a swarm launcher, you know as infantry I can't hit you and you get an easy shot on a Heavy, slow moving target that can't hit you and if it comes any closer will time out and die in the out of bounds marker. They don't tell you that they go 20+/0, 30+/0 and even seen them go 40+/0 on some maps. They don't tell you that they get together on Manus Peak Ambush and roll 3-4 tanks at the same time. And yes, I've seen tanks die at the hands of stupid drivers. Driving it head first into a building in the middle of 3 other tanks isn't going to end well. No disrespect to a person who can drive one skillfully around a map and not run it into terrain that will make it get stuck or get damaged. What I don't like and I think is absolute garbage is trying to tell me that tanks are not powerful enough, and that infantry stand a ghost of a chance. I call BS on that and I am sure there are many out there that will agree with me. Tanks do not belong on Ambush maps, esp not more than one of them at a time on the same side.
Sorry bud, I've been busy.
He pushed me back and kept me pinned, I scored a couple of kills from randoms rushing at me to try and get the kill but I stayed behind a hill unable to move and he didn't step out of cover. It must've been 8/0 that game.
The reason? Yes we can stomp idiots with great ease and I find that enjoyable. Because I enjoy running in squads of Infantry, taking a tank out so that the reddots focus on me and my squad can mop up. What would you have us do instead of hiding? Willingly allow you to blow up a 1mil tank because "You tried hard" to kill me? You didn't try hard enough.
Yes we go that high simply because players don't want to do the work to fight us, everyone expects to kill us with their militia **** but the fact is, it's not going to happen. Like I said before, I was smashed by a Proto Forge, if there was two of those there would've been no chance for me but instead one guy was left to fight me off whilst the others tried to kill me with Militia Gear or ran past me to kill the Infantry nearby.
I never stated Tanks weren't powerful enough, I stated they weren't OP, as in Overpowered. Tanks are pretty well balanced against infantry aside from Grenades and certain proto things (By the way, Tanks don't seem to have any protogear, since I don't need to get level 5 in most things to get the top modules.. would like some proto stuff pls)
When you are fighting in a Tank, you have to think about various things, such as your positioning, emergency exit, routes where infantry can hit you, where your infantry is, what vehicles are on the field and checking maps to see if there are any other tanks on the field. Whilst on the move you have to beware of Terrain and watch high ground positions otherwise you're dead, it's not the easiest thing to do but if you're good at it it pays off.
I think Tanks not allowed in Ambush is a ridiculous idea, it's a double edged blade when you're bringing a tank out onto an Ambush map as you have less space to retreat too and if anyone who actually spec'd into AV is on the field, you're likely to die. I lose more tanks in an Ambush match than I ever will Skirmish. |

Slypie, you've been playing some bad games man, I've seen many tanks taken out. I "almost" got destroyed and pinned, I was smart enough to use the terrain to my advantage and keep myself alive, but I didn't go back to the fight due to being afraid of losing my tank. Can you tell me more about the tanks your encountered? Me and my buddy did the same thing the other day on Line Harvest, cept we had Shield Transporters running so we were heavily outhealing anything that was thrown at us.
They're not OP, it seems you're just come across very good tanks or you're an awful AVer. Tell me what AV you were running, and don't tell me "Well I used AV grenades" because that **** won't work. Unless you're using packed you're doing laughable damage, and if you're up against shield tanks you're doing less. (Don't get me wrong, they do great against armor, but you need flux for shields).
I've killed tanks with Militia Swarms, AV Grenades and Militia Forge Guns, but that **** won't work when Tankers get their better gear, you don't have the SP to get a better forge gun? That's your fault, find a squad member who has done the work, you're saying Tanks are OP because you simply won't change your playstyle, what do you want CCP to do? Buff AR damage so you can shoot at a tank and kill it?
Don't post about OP tanks until you have atleast Advanced AV, which is pretty much the level of gear all tankers are at.
