I am serious here.
I am the only one in my corp, Killstar Co. and I have that amount of ISK to risk.
It would be 8 on 1. And yes, I would get slaughtered. But If I kill one of you/ destroy one tank or dropship, then you owe me 100 million ISK, in addition to the full wager being returned. There would be some rules, like I can't snipe. There would be no hacking anything.
The rules are negotiable.
I would explain why I would be willing to do this in other posts, but it would probably bore you.
It would be very possible that once you win the match, which you will, that even if I got the one kill, your corp might swindle me. I am prepared for that. I will just quit dust. And I guess your corp name would go down in Dust Lore for good or bad.
I don't know, any takers?

I'm willing to hear other corp ideas on what would make it interesting. I'm not opposed to going up against any type of gear or vehicles.
I run Assault , just so you know. I don't want to restrict what my opponent can do. I don't think it would be fair for me to snipe, as funny as that sounds. I don't think anything should be hacked to let the match last as long as possible.
You can attempt to camp me for example, and I will just have to break out of it. If I don't, you win.
The ways in which I will die will be numerous. But I don't think a member of another corp wants to be my one kill, so the potential for embarrassment goes both ways. Risk/Reward.

I agree. It would take something creative to overcome the strength in numbers. So I'd have to do some planning. I know I will die 150 times. But will any one of you die once? That for me is the real question. |

Yes, 5 tanks would be tough as hell. I am a very good AV person. Maybe a slightly above average assault player. |

The rules are simple: you have to kill me 150 times before (or if) I kill one of your guys/ destroy a tank or a dropship, whether you are in it or not. Destroying an LAV would not count, however, if you die in it, it would count.
If one you dies for any reason, I win. So remember to activate your dampner when jumping out of the MCC. |

All you the big corps use brute force. Effective, but predictable. You run in the same direction like Fat Albert and the gang, and call it tactics. Granted you may fan out for a match like this, but it would be new to you and that might scare you.
I am a straight up lone wolf and actually brain storm ways to avoid your pack. Yeah, I've come face to face with your buddy system and died really quickly. But I know a few tricks, or to say, I would adapt.
I'm not saying I would win this match. It could turn into the ultimate redline. But I'm willing to risk it, are you? |

No hacking objectives
150-0 would win from your point of view.
Yes, I would quit if it was stolen. Maybe there are folks who don't care a damn if I play this game. But then again, I don't want to commit to a community that does such a thing, and they would be doing me a favor, giving me an excuse not to game with them.

EvE is built on stuff like this, man. You're going to be stolen from, you're going to be backstabbed, and you're going to me cheated (most likely). If it's going to be a real issue with you, then you might not want to stick around.
Yes, I've been hearing about some eve stories and then some spying in corps and to be honest I don't want to get attached if it's like that.
I'm honest on my end. I don't plan to invite anyone.
I suppose if peeps steal it, it's not real money. Yeah, they'll laugh at my expense. But maybe I'll go make more real money in real life.
Now I don't want to leave dust. I'm just trying to make things interesting. If something as simple as organizing this and holding true can't happen, then why would I want to invest anymore time in a game.
It's like this. If you go to prison and you are forced to join a gang and become a racist just to surviive but don't join the gang and get killed by your own race for not defending them . . . well, just don't go to prison. |

My point about this is most corps are doing this any way. Shoving it down the throats of anyone they can. If there was a second redline, they would redline that.
What you're saying is that there is luck involved in a kill. I do agree. I'm trying to show that not every player moves with a team. Some go off and do things by themselves at the spur of the moment. It's two different mindsets. I'm not going to say which is better, only that they are different.
This is just a heightened version of it. Blood thirsty teamwork vs. a desperate individual. Sometimes that individual kills with luck, sometimes that individual creates something out of nothing. It may not happen in this match. Just saying it can happen, luck or no luck. |

I'm just not a corp guy. I would love if CCP offered individual type merc contracts. As I see it, I'm not sure that will happen.
I don't squad often, so many times I'm dealing with opponents who run together, usually recognizable corp names. They get me more often than I get them. I've learned a lot from the few times I've got them.

Dude, where interacting with simulated version of an alternate realtiy. Loosen up on the logic demands. I'm pretty sure he's calling you short-sighted and naive. Which you are being. No one will seriously accept this wager when all it takes is a lucky shot from a Forge Gun to OHK any suit ever. They'll lock down all the NULLs, take your money, and walk away. Also: Team play is exactly what nearly all of DUST is being built around. It's not a lonewolf game, and will never be designed for that. If you aren't interested in teamplay, then I must admit that I do not think that this game is for you.
I have to explain something to you about a lone wolf. It's a misconception that what they do does not help the team. In many cases, not all, the lonewolf wants to win just as bad, if not more then the pack mentality.
This mindset see things that perhaps the pack may not, and the only way to take action on it, is to stray off.
If you mean lock down the nulls by hacking objectives, hacking would not be allowed in this match. Nothing, no supply depots, blasters, objectives.
Some people feel safe in numbers during a match, and yet from the sounds of it, they are surrounded by a gaming community of shadiness and nobody should to be trusted. I can't let that contradiction just slide. |

That said, it's an interesting challenge, and I'd be interested in seeing it happen with someone.
My corp doesn't (yet) have a full complement of 8 players available within the same timezone, and we're nowhere near the 100 million ISK it would take to go after this, but I'll talk to some of them and see if we can come up with something. You may or may not hear from me at some point in the future. Whatever happens, I wish you luck.
Well, thanks for the luck wish.
There's no telling how this kind of match would go. I'm mean I can picture things. And I'm sure some corps out there are picturing things too.
I've heard some of these corps talking in matches and they have incredible communication. A lot of what I would be doing would be predictable when I was hoping it was not. So I'm wondering how I would adapt when I'm cornered time after time after time.
I imagine some of my deaths would be immediate. But I would have to do some thinking in between spawns. Meanwhile they have eyes on. |

Vyzion Eyri wrote:"Wikipedia" wrote: The Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is a large species of lizard found in Indonesian islands... it is the largest living species of lizard, growing to a maximum length of 3 metres (10 ft) in rare cases and weighing up to around 150 kilograms (330 lb). Their unusual size has been attributed to island gigantism, since no other carnivorous animals fill the niche on the islands where they live.
As a result of their size, these lizards dominate the ecosystems in which they live. Komodo dragons hunt and ambush prey including invertebrates, birds, and mammals. Their group behaviour in hunting is exceptional in the reptile world. The diet of big Komodo dragons mainly consists of deer, though they also eat considerable amounts of carrion. Komodo dragons also occasionally attack humans in the area of West Manggarai Regency where they live in Indonesia.
"Wikipedia" wrote: The domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris) is a subspecies of the gray wolf (Canis lupus), a member of the Canidae family of the mammalian order Carnivora.
Dogs' value to early human hunter-gatherers led to them quickly becoming ubiquitous across world cultures. Dogs perform many roles for people, such as hunting, herding, pulling loads, protection, assisting police and military, companionship, and, more recently, aiding handicapped individuals.
...the dog has developed into hundreds of varied breeds, and shows more behavioral and morphological variation than any other land mammal. For example, height measured to the withers ranges from 15.2 centimetres (6.0 in) in the Chihuahua to about 76 cm (30 in) in the Irish Wolfhound; color varies from white through grays (usually called "blue") to black, and browns from light (tan) to dark ("red" or "chocolate") in a wide variation of patterns; coats can be short or long, coarse-haired to wool-like, straight, curly, or smooth.
Let us, for the sake of my amusement, pretend the OP is the underdog (pun intended). He is a dog, versus 8 komodo dragons, who have claws, muscular tails, possess patience and ability to camouflage, serrated teeth and saliva with 50 strains of bacteria that causes almost all bitten to die of blood poisoning. 1v8, he has no chance. 1v1, still, no chance. But this isn't the case, is it? There are 150 dogs that the 8 komodo dragons have to kill. All without one dragon dying. The hunter becomes the hunted.
A lovely dynamic and awesome post.
On one hand it is a really unfair challenge, on the other, a valid challenge. If anything, its not as straight foward as it appears on the surface.
Now five tanks in my face is straight forward. However, I've been in a match with Grupo which had five tanks. Four of them I did not bother much for more than a few hits, easily recovered. I did kill one. While redlined. |

That's a far better test of lone wolf skills than one lucky kill of an unimportant target. Anyone can toss a bomb and kill a bodyguard, but can you get the valued target?
Interesting.
However. I still don't see that as a lone wolf situation since he is relying heavily on his teamates, in the background from a positional sense. Most times, maybe not in this match, the lone wolf is an aggressor, who enters parts of the battlefield, unprotected and sometimes out numbered, but most of all, by surprise. It involves some stealth, and unknown risk. Sometimes he pays dearly for it.

I sometimes have terrible games. And I will risk losing isk if it means winning a close game. But to lose isk and the match is the worst. A loss is loss whether is happens early or late, so make isk. |

If the corp did pay out, maybe they'd then have me as a member and that money would follow back in . . . What, who said _you_ were being scammed? I'm saying _you_ are the _scammer_. It's pretty simple to do, and used in high-sec all the time to gank people during wars. Basically they start a war with using a corp with just a couple people, and once the targets think they're safe they add lots of people to the corp. So you're hoping to get someone to put down 100M in a bet, then get in lots of good players (I assume you know some, else you wouldn't be running this scam) and stomp them.
Didn't even cross my mind. I know about one person well enough to squad with. |

No you find it. You were rude saying he'll rip my face off. So you're involved. Organize it. |

Fine by me. Maybe a middle level corp would like to try to earn the biggest contract yet. So you ask for an 8v1 and now you trash talk people who run in squads? Hell, I'll 1v1 you for the 100m, I can put up the money.
I'll talk to you tomorrow about it. If you have proto stuff, that will be advantage, since I don't . Either way, your friend says you'll rip my face off and I can learn from you.
when do you want to meet your student?
tution is 100 mil isk. |

Enough people have warned me against it. I wont be doing isk transactions with anyone. Just gonna play the random pubs. Win some. Lose some. |

We have at least 3 people with pvr's. Just imagine seeing your actions in 3 different points of view. Heck hire the IMPS for protection (that whats this game is about right) if you feel the need.
Yeah, I was into the idea at first now I've just turned sour to it. Not much of a corp guy, so I guess corp battles are out for now. Will spend the isk on proto stuff once I level up. Thanks anyway. |

Marston VC wrote:does anyone else think he'll get someone to accept the contract thinking it'll be easy money and he comes in last minute with two full squads from another big corp?? Dont know if you can do it, but if he has two people in his corp they could theoretically have two full squads of (mostly) imperfects or whatever corp and just rob the other naive team of their money. Unless they changed it so that only corp members could join, but even that could be worked around.
Again, this never crossed my mind. |

He is the only player in his corp too.
Didn't Killshot get scammed not too long ago? Or am I mistaken for another Corp, how did you earn 100mil ISK from just playing Pub matches?
The rules are so flawed, for all we know you could be exploiting a new WP gltich to get an Orbital.
Just recruit some people and put a contract up for 1mil ISK. Not a lot of people will trust this sorty of thing. There are so many ways to get 1-Hit KOs in Dust that I dont think this is worth the time or effort. It could be a scam in that he promises to come alone, but brings a full team, takes the Null Cannons, wins the match, and walks off with the contract money. He may have only one in his corp now, but it's easy to add more at short notice and he only needs one more to run two squads and invite ringers.
I earn ISk playing pub matches because this is a game of potential loss and I finally adjusted to that after years of other shooters.
It wasn't a scam. I offered an unusual challenge so peeps think there is a trick. Going against tanks and whatever they throw at me is okay, but the idea that I might get one of them while they 7 kill assist me is unfair? Yeah, too easy. Joke. |

Besides, I just played two matches in a row on the side of some of your corp members and it was fun. |
