I activated mine after being weekly capped. And it never extended the +50% to total weekly cap. So I assumed when the next week started it would apply the 50% extra weekly cap towards the second week. I'm fairly sure it did not.
and having extended it once, now I may have lost 2 weeks worth of 50% of the weekly cap that I paid for. If this is the case it is most upsetting as there was nothing in the item description about the detailed mechanics for the augmentation.
Anyone have a similar issue? have I in fact been ripped off / mislead or is this my imagination?
PS. how much is the weekly cap? so I can see how much I may have lost. |

The way you have this worded I'm not sure if the booster is bugged. The way the booster works it gives you + 50% of your SP per battle. Not totally sure, but if you use the booster after you have already hit your cap I think it might just give you the normal 1000 SP + 500 (because of the booster 50%). So if you time the booster badly you can screw yourself. Pretty sure how that works. |

The booster doesn't really extend the SP cap. Well, it kinda does, but not really. If you hit the cap in x hours, you'll still hit the cap in x hours, not 3x/2
You know the circle thingies on the post-game screen. The SP one on the left has a section that represents the "Potential SP Bonus" or however it's worded. It's one-third of the circle. Your actual earned SP is the other two-thirds. That is what counts towards the cap. The smaller segment is what you get if you have the active booster on.
You'll get 150% of the earned SP, but only the _earned_ SP goes to the weekly cap.
If you turn the booster on between hitting cap and the reset, you'll get 150% of [SP=WP, limited at 1000] until the reset comes around. So, a game where you got 1000 WP or more, you would get 1500 SP.
The weekly cap is something like 190,000 SP. I'm afraid I don't know for sure, but a quick look around the forums should tell you, or maybe some nice person will verify this, or give the correct figure here.
I hope this helps. |

So you're saying it's 190,000 SP weekly with and without the boosters. With boosters you just get to this cap faster. Yes? |

No.
With the booster, your effective weekly cap becomes 285k (1.5 * 190k). What he's saying is that if it takes you 3 hours to hit the cap without boosters, it'll still only take you 3 hours to hit the booster augmented cap, but that cap is higher. So effectively you're earning 1.5 times the amount of SP that you normally would in the same time frame.

Well I hit the cap this weekend and bought the merc pack today. Activated the 30-day active booster and I'm winning WP + % extra of WP, but not the usual +2000 SP. |

If you've hit the SP cap, you get 1 SP per WP, up to a limit of 1000 SP.
If you have an active booster, you will get 1.5 SP for 1 WP, up to a limit of 1500 SP.
I'm not sure where you're getting this "usual +2000" from, my man. |

Because they say that with active booster the cap increases by 50%. Instead of 190,000 weekly, 280,000 with active booster. This means it's just a rumor? |

I think I finally understand what's happening: active booster SP don't count towards the SP cap. So it doesn't make you reach the cap faster, it gets you cap-free SP until you reach the cap with the non-booster SP. So indeed you'll be earning 300,000 SP instead of 200,000 per week.

basically the boosters 50% "doesn't count" so far as your cap is concerned.
so while they do allow you to build more than a weeks worth of skillpoints in a week; it doesn't exactly increase your cap. it multiplies the sp you earn under the cap. you still need to be able to earn those skillpoints in the first place to multiply them.
why does that distinction matter? because if you wait until after you cap out to plug in your booster, you effectively wasted the booster. ideally you wanna plug the booster in before your first match of the week, so it can be applied to the maximum amount of skillpoints. |

See I wish I'd known that before, or that I could get a refund for the two I've wasted now.
It has 3 days left on it. So will I get this 50% bonus for starting tomorrow? Then I should let it die out and restart it when another Wednesday hits?
Last question, does passive SP count against the SP cap? So if I wait too long will my passive eat into my bonus and effectively kill it? |

yes, it should work starting tomorrow. if you can earn a weeks worth of skillpoints within the 2 days left on the booster, you could salvage it
as for passive, that's completely separate so go nuts and plug it in whenever. |

Well I'm trying that now but I just realized, there might be another issue.
What if somebody were to start an active booster on Friday. Then reach their cap (presumably getting the 50% weekly bonus over). But then the next SP week starts and they played again to cap on the second week before booster ran out. Would they effectively get two weeks of 50% bonus for the price of one? Would it work in the second week then?
Or does it simply not add the bonus to the second week anyhow, meaning I'm screwing myself again by trying to "salvage" this second week, where the first one I activated After cap.
These are questions CCP should have addressed in the item itself.

If you don't play between Wednesday morning at the end of the daily downtime and Friday, when you activate the one-week active booster, and then play until you get the 190k SP (plus 50% active booster bonus) and then play enough time to hit the cap again between the next Wednesday's downtime and the next Friday when the booster runs out, then yes. |

Then yes, you will get the bonus 50% weekly to both the first And second week? |

boosters don't extend the cap. they give you bonus, uncapped SP. so it is working as intended, take you SP gain, and divide by 2 then add to what you just earned, that is what you get. period, whether you get 10 sp or 10,000,000 SP. |

yes, but grinding the weekly cap in 1 day is kinda annoying. you would also need to not play that week basically to get the most out of it. |
