I picked him because he's well known enough to make this clear, could have chosen any number of other people, but I have respect for Regnum's abilities. You'll see where this is going very quickly. The game has been going for 1 month (this is a hypothetical), both Regnum's are at exactly the same warpoints, have the same gaming skills, kill count, vehicle kills, they are both working on the same type of character build, etc. They are equal in every way. Except that one Regnum has been running boosters since the reset and is running all of the highest level AUR gear he can, and the other is playing completely for free. Which one would win? Gear breaks the tie. Saying skill beats gear is easy to say, but when you have two people on equal footing skill-wise, gear tips the tables in their favor. Gear is accessed via SP, SP is boosted by AUR, and AUR is bought with real money. In other words, one of these Regnum's is spending money in order to win, aka paying to win. Now a lot of you will say that "once the market opens up it won't matter since AUR items will be available for ISK!" This is true, when the market opens up it WONT matter. However, the market ISN'T open, and until it does people are paying to win. When 1v1, skill=skill, play time=play time, FREEvPAY, the one who pays wins because they are pushed ahead of the rest. I would like to request an SP cap on all boosters until the market opens up. After you reach 6 Mil SP, you should have your boosters frozen until the marketplace opens up and new players can buy them with ISK. There is no reason for those with this much SP to NEED to pull ahead of everyone else so much faster, especially with things like the Omega Active Booster coming out. This would also slow down the SP gain of people who are in the lead on SP and allow those of us who are behind to catch up a little bit. Now, HATE ME!!!! Maybe you should get a job. I, unfortunately, am disabled and cannot work. But thanks for your concern.
if you can type on a keyboard... no offense really but you should still be allowed access to a office job if they say no to that then i feel sorry for you |

Not to delve too deeply into my personal health history on a public forum, but I have a spot on my brain. It causes me to have random blackouts and severe dizziness issues among other things. Long story short, I cannot work.
Luckily my mental acuity hasn't been effected so far (that I can tell), so I'm using it while I still have it. |

Whats wrong with gear winning? Shouldn't it be this way? Skilled player with medium gear v average player with good gear, the skilled will probably win. Same skill, better gear SHOULD win. Because better gear = more investment in time, money, or isk.
You people need to stop complaining about stuff all the damn time. The world isn't fair. Adapt or die. |

Boosters allow you to pay to get SP at an insane rate, which allows you to use more high grade AUR stuff, while only having half the skills required. I'm not going to "adapt or die" and I'm not prepared to pay anything more until we see; 1.) industry 2.) PvE 3.) 4000+ unique maps. |

The passive skills, grid, cpu, mobility, scanning!, hacking, weapon support all combined make a very real but hard-to-quantify difference.
That would be a very interesting match-up. The passive-maxxed(representing millions of bought skillpoints) Regnum vs the passive-normal Regnum, gear identical. |
