Now I was all for it being implemented. But this might've been one of those ideas that was good on paper not so much when implemented. The weekly cap has basically made it harder to play dust. The reason being when you cap skirmish becomes useless and ambush.... well its ambush
Aside from that if you cap day1, and you will with boosters, theres almost nothing bringing you back to Dust (almost being corp battles). With the daily cap at least there was a reason to play everyday. The only problem was how small the daily cap was.
so my question to you guys is if you regret choosing the weekly cap? thinking about it would you have kept the daily cap instead? |

I would have regretted a daily cap more. I do not want to feel obligated to play every day. I'm not saying the weekly cap is or is not the ideal solution, but daily cap = my head asplode. |

guess we have different gaming habits :) I really liked the daily cap. Just hated how quick i hit it. Thinking about it i always got just enough SP to buy something small. |

The weekly cap is more enjoyable IMO and doesn't punish you for losing a day. 1000-1500 for each isn't that bad also so you can still earn quite a bit sp after cap. After all we play to have fun and we stop when we don't no matter the cap. |

hell no. games dull either way in it's current state- a continuous de ja vu of redline/redlining/AFK, but at least i dont get obessed with grinding, the grind for SP should not be the games main drive, which it currently is. at least now i can grind 1-2 days and go about my life. grinding for SP every day made this into WOW |

good point. I guess i just had more fun with the daily cap than with the weekly cap. But thats just my preference the thread was for the forums own opinion :) |

They could prevent this issue by removing active completely and buff passive to make up for it.
There are reasons to play besides gaining sp, like for the fun of playing. Especially once we have battles that matter and effect boarders and/or power balance of alliances noticeably.

acually, DUST is making DUST dull. same build for 2+ months with no new content or even timeframe, just more CCP money grabs. It's not the cap thats "ruining" the experience, it's the lack of substance. the SP soft cap is more than enough. but I'm sick of world of tanks-bush, and Tryhard-O-Rama skirmish. CBs are this games only saving grace, and they are limited to two squads, and have no real purpose. the sad part is, outside of adding a few maps, CB fundamentals have never changed.
we need 6+ member groups, and 4 squad contract battles, with planetary conquest. only then will I truly be able to start enjoying this game again. |

I like the weekly cap better and will be much better when there is a roll over. However, it is a shame that there has to be a cap at all, but I understand it is a way to sell boosters over a long period instead of a short period. |

So basically lack of support? I respect CCP but console gamers aren't PC gamers. Console gamers, especially in a shooter, need updates to keep them interested and compelled to play.

how much fun can the same game mode be after this long? i too was wide eyed for a couple of months back in the summer but we still don't have player operated MCCs, and the games main draw, corp battles, why are we limited to 8 vs 8? theres no explanation for that crap except they're trying to cater to puny little non factor corps who only have 15 members. the game is evolving very slowly if at all. i commend them for trying but writing a story of our merc battles doesn't quite cut it as sandboxy, it's like their grasping for straws now. i understand they had a vacation but I've also seen too many online gimmicks/marketing strategies in the past to be a true believer here. I really want to believe they will deliver tho. I could fork out $350 for repairs and go back to PC gaming but I'd prefer not to. PC FPS gaming = hackers fest. |

Daily cap was the most horrific experience of my Dust career, and the only reason I put up with it was because I knew I needed to in order to keep up with everyone else, and that it would be changing soon.
At least now with a weekly cap I can:
1. Play when I want 2. Not HAVE to play every day 3. Play as long as I want 4. Still hit the cap before the week it over
Overall I have no complaints about the current system and honestly would not mind if they kept it this way. |

Weekly cap is more convenient for more of us. Some of us have jobs and school which deters us from playing DUST everyday. At least with the weekly SP, we can reap the full benefits of the SP cap. Just wish they increased the weekly SP cap. |

If it seems bad that's because currently the only thing to do in the game is get SP. That's a fault of lack of content.
When you think about it the features in this beta so far are very small. It's far from enough to be considered a released "game" |

i guess that brings up the argument that dust came out of closed status to quick. It may be a beta but it's left a bad impression on most people due to bugs,FR,and most of all lack of content. I should mention however that's all to be expected in a beta. But in a FPS, a very popular genre, these issues are supposed to minimized. |

I work 40 hours a week with overtime almost every weekend and i had no problem at all with the daily cap, and i didn't always cap out either. Furthermore you don't have to play everyday, that's your own personal problem. If i dont get SP cap one day... big deal, it's not the end of the world bro.
Having a daily cap brings more players to the battlefield on a daily basis rather than, a whole bunch on the weekends and emptiness for the rest of the week.

That's the fault of the player not the game, just because the only thing you want to do is grind up more SP than the next guy doesn't mean the game is broken. you should re-evaluate yourself as a gamer, this game is about winning matches and conquesting over other's, not having more skill points... |

Here is the thing, the weekly cap is neede, otherwise people will complain more about us no lifers. Where the community went wrong, is everyone voted option # 2 for weekly cap w/ soft cap. What people should of done that us IMPs voted, was #5, for a weekly cap, then uncapped after.
This would give incentive u still play skirmish |

This would give incentive u still play skirmish Which would mean that not only are no-lifers able to play more matches, which = more SP, but those no lifers would be getting more SP per match, which = even bigger SP gap between no-lifers and everyone else.
No, the right choice was made. We just need an increase on the soft cap for skirmish.
Also, not having this argument again. I could spend days at a time on it. |

uh ... has everyone forgotten , this is just a temporary fix until they straighten out a rolling cap and implement it? It won't be a problem for very much longer ... then we'll have a whole NEW set of complaints about the NEW SP system. |

I think the cap is a dumb idea. Let those who want to surpass their peers do so. The cap is only here because of the noobs that cried when people who were more invested in the game played more and had more SP. You don't see an experience cap in COD.... |

Although the weekly cap is a good idea in my opinion, its the gameplay and rewards system that has me not playing Dust so much. Currently with AFK farming and doing bad in a game nets you better rewards than actually doing well in the game. So I AFK farm and do badly and I get the best gear.
However if the weekly cap were made in such a way that if you reached your cap and the rewards were good for still playing I owould be on it much more. |
