Happens all the time, it really gets me frustrated. Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. |

Not just HMG's it's a bug in the game I think where players have been able to shoot through walls when a wounded target gets in cover, tho it could just be a case of lag since it doesn't happen often to me |

Mercs gets shot at with weapons that goes through shield and armor with ease, so I guess it's fair to assume that a simple wall will stop 100% of everything.
As saw a similar bug on CounterStrike in the CS_ASSAULT map; bullets went right through the metal-sheated walls... Go figure!

it is lag..... you might think you are behind said wall... but in reality you are still barely in front of it.....

I'm more suspicious about the lone heavy who just happened to turn around at the exact moment I came up behind them. Only scouts with the right modules have that good of scanning. |

;D That wasn't a bug, it was by design.
The walls and roof of the warehouse were simply corrugated iron and projectiles passed through accordingly. This also extended to the air ducts.
The terrorists could increase their chances through use of sound and/or prediction of a counter-terrorist's location. However, simply blasting away could cause a distraction useful to the opposition.
Overall a challenging map. |

As a heavy who watches his scanner like a hawk, not so.
Any player a few feet behind you shows up as a very faint symbol on your map. It's hard to see, but any time I've been ganked in the back, the symbol has been there, I just wasn't paying close enough attention.
I usually spot it with just enough time to spin around and spray lead. Happens at least once a match. |

Unmoving scout 22 unmoving heavy 30
Unmoving heavy 30 versus moving scout 45.
Moving increases your profile/being detected level and running increases it even more.
Unmoving heavy versus running arrogant shotgun scout??
The skills are there for a reason. And I have yet to see an unmoving shotgun scout.
Game working as intended.

I think is most likely to be related with the hitboxes, they seem to be HUGE in Dust 514.
CCP should really downside them a bit. |

Yup, lag. Happens all the time.
If you notice any lag in a match at all it pays to start ducking for cover earlier than you normally would. I've seen my armor takr damage a full two seconds after being shot. |

This has been going on for some time. It has to do with 2 main issues: lag & incorrect positioning of hit box, imo. |

There's a thread here somewhere....anyway a guy who beta-tested another game recalled how hitboxes would lead or lag what the character was doing on the HUD, and how players learned to exploit this(based on what direction the player was moving) pretty quickly.
It's a different game, but may be a similar issue. |

we have tested this in our internal scrims.
If a heavy sticks his gun right into a box with a red on the other side the red still get hit by spray.
Also on the coms socket a heavy can stick his gun into the wall by the win B objective and still hit you.
This is because you techincally shoot through you eyes. This the meaning of "head glitching" where the only think visible is your head yet you are still able to shoot.
CCP has known about this since the summer and hasn't made any changes to it. My last thread on this was moved to technical and considered a bug.
This has nothing to do with lag as there are many walls and structues that can be randomly shot through.
Explosive is the worst I have been damaged when a mass drive hits the other sides of double stack boxes before. Again this was tested internally not just pub talk |

If suits shoot through their eyes, I wonder where tank turrets shoot from... Especially when they are in the 3rd person view. I know I've had bullets curve over hills or something. Fracking annoying when I KNOW i could finish them off after getting them in armor and then retreating to cover with AV grenades. I've been dropped too many times because of this. |

For real though why is it always the HMG is the issue???? i have had this problem with lasers and ARs hiting me when im behing said wall and die thinking im behind cover, its nothing but the stuped lag.... welcome to beta? granted the game be on singulaity its still in BETA and some lag i guess is ok.
ook at other pl who cant even play a single match without haveing to restart the game every single time they end a match. |

ook at other pl who cant even play a single match without haveing to restart the game every single time they end a match. I think it has to do with the fact that an HMG 3 feet away on the other side of a wall that can still hit you is a lot more dangerous than a laser or an AR at any range since the HMG sprays and the AR you actually have to see your target to aim at it. |

APD Seriously, I've seen HMG users often glitch their barrels through thin surfaces. For your situation though, it does sound to be based around lag. |

This. Players shoot through their eyes. So despite an HMG firing from the hip, the game sees every bullet fire from the eyes. |
