For such a tactically rich game, the random noobs, need guidance. We need to ensure everyone has mics on from the beginning! It's not a big issue with corps, but seriously if you want he community to grow, you need to be able to communicate, especially to settings averse newbs, which we can train to be intelligent humans, if we can just yell at them!

+1 - Its not that easy to figure out how to adjust the settings for mics when you first get into the game. One of my friends is trying out the game now and it took a couple texts to instruct him on how to just turn on his mic.

This has been requested so many times by us players! I don't think I have sen anyone respond that it is good the way it is.

CCP, why have you not explained why this setting is off by default?

I believe this would drastically alter how matches unfold. How many times could a blueberry have lived if only you could tell him there was a guy coming up behind him; or by knowing that red dot just around the corner is a heavy? It would allow teams to be more organized which would offset the advantage teams get by just having 1 or 2 corp squads.

I requested this some time back and in almost all my current matches it is now true.

Team voice is enabled. Those with mics have them on (indicated by the litlte talk bubble) and I can hear all manner of breathing, eating of chips, drinking of liquids, music of dubious quality (Your B****es do what?) and housemate watching the other TV while conversing with a player.

That does break the immersion for me but it seems that it is moving in the direction you want. Now we need them to get mics and set them up before starting DUST.

+1 forever, every time this thread comes up, until the voice comms have sane defaults, and I no longer have to walk new players through how to set things up via a lengthy and tedious text chat. Hopefully someday.

Also +1. I was trying to comm with somebody and my mic wasn't working. Google fixed my problem however.
