Every Year CCP has a fan fest and every year have sold Virutal tickets to players who cannot afford the time or money to fly to Iceland and raid their bars.
Both physical attending and virtual attending via live streams had been given virtual gear for Eve Online. Even eventually allowed isk (in form of a plex) to buy the tickets too.
Last years Swag Pack included:
- An Avatar T-shirt
- A 6 pack of Guafe zero (ingame item that boosted performance temporary)
- An a special Edition Ship with slightly different stats and paint scheme.
- At the cost of 24 USD (if i recall right much cheaper than blizzard's blizzcon stream)
- Physical attendees got an actual Quafe t-shirt for their real life avatars.
CPM and myself have discussed this topic and concluded that Dust 514 fans should also be given access as well but have gear virtually just for us as not all of us are or will ever be eve players.
So I purpose a price matched "Fanfest Mercenary Pack."
So for 24 Dollars I think dust players should get the following....
- The Virtual Ticket Access to the live and archived stream of the fan-fest.
- A T-shirt PS Home avatars that matches the T-shirt the eve avatars are getting.
- A 'token' to get the same shirt in dust 514 when custom avatar feature makes it in.
- A special Fanfest Edition Militia or Meta 1 BPO suit (I would like to see the dust bunny caldari assault suit)
- Limited run (x10) Special Quafe LAV with its own stats and color scheme.
- 1 Week Booster Care Package UVT, Passive Booster, Active Booster
- Aurum in remaining good value (though not as much as the pack below)
This can be gifted as well :D unfortunately there is no commodity by aurum nor is there a player market to pay for this tick with isk this year.
However not to be disappointing and leave out anyone, sell a second pack should be made available as well for those who already bought the tickets or just don't want to watch.
This pack would be priced like the current dragonfly pack at 19$ would include
- BPO Suit in similar colors to the Fanfest suit
- BPO Scrambler Pistol (please kanhid colors!)
- 50x limited run fun modules.
- The same Limited run x10 LAV fanfesters get
- One week booster care package
- Aurum in good value for the pack.

It's a good idea, no doubt. I do think it's perhaps a little heavy on the BPO swag, but that's just my opinion.
One thing to consider is that with the likelihood of us seeing new content around fan fest maybe we should leave it to the devs to choose one of the upcoming pieces of content to offer as a mystery reward. They could also do something similar to the EVE anniversary rewards where you pick a pack that suits you. Choosing a militia drop suit BPO from one of the races to celebrate expanding the suit lines to all four factions, for example. |

I would be more impressed if:
1. He referenced CSM correction as CSM and not CPM 2. He mentioned that anyone can watch live streams of the events as they happen without a purchase (the purchase if for the extra goodies, not to watch the speeches). Yes they are on Youtube after the fact, but you you can also watch live for free - I know as I watched it last year at no charge. |

1. Council of Planetary Management is a volunteer group comprised various Dust 514 players of various backgrounds and ideas who's main focus is to debate, deliberate, explore the need of player representation, how it would be done, ect ect. Its really boring politic stuff involving writing our 'white paper' which you can equate to a constitution. It's an open door project anyone with the social drive, maturity, and influence is recommend to join and voice up. One of the primary reasons the unoffical CPM 0 formed was the overall lack of interest for Dust514 from current members of the CSM and showing this idea to them would have gotten shot down most likely.
2. Please point to the specific sentence where I stated its free to watch without the without purchase of the virtual ticket. I would like to correct that. |

He typed this on a phone, chillax. Also, one had to pay for the HD feed. Low resolution feed was free. HD was well worth it and you are a useless scrub for not buying it. |

I think this is a pretty good idea, and would def make sense seeing as we live in the same virtual world but a whole community is sorta excluded.
This I'm sure could be easily fixed with AUR purchases to grant access indeed.

Yeah, I saw the similarity but considering we just suggested it I thought it might be a little more reasonable.
I'd rather see this stay on message about giving access to the community (and some swag) rather than have it become a BPO wish list. |

I think this a great idea.
Question though. The eggers who goto fanfest get this stuff applied to the account they registered with as a perk for attending fanfest.
What about those dust bunnies who are going? Do you propose the same model that they get this stuff applied to their account?
Even, those who are going to FF who play both games, as I do. |

They use your email as a login (the one tied to the account) so I can see that being entirely possible. And yes maybe give eggers and bunnies credit for both games. |

They did something like this last year on Playstation home and it was free. Yes, it wasn't that encompassing and more focused on Dust 514. But was still free, I even have the t-shirt.
This is a great advertising opportunity so why charge people money to virtually attend? It should be free to attend, as Dust 514 is free to play, and if you want to spend money on memorabilia that is fine. |

Well I had to add it in later but there is a Free Live Stream Low Definition so I strongly believe that should still be available. HD streams unless sony pays for the entire bandwidth should be still a ticketed service. |

So I come from a different game background, a blizzard one. They do the same thing for the fans who do not buy tickets or can not make it to the blizzcon. They provide gear and such to the people in attendance and as well those who viewed online. PPV etc. But since this game is new and is reaching out to players not familiar to EVE, New Eden. It would not be a great value to some to most of the people playing DUST 514. They do not have that connection to the world yet. However, allowing gamers to view the fan fest via live feed could and may even attract their attention to how big and important this really is. Help us, the ones who are not familiar with eve, get a better understanding of the world. Do not charge, or at least have some parts of the event to be shown live at no cost. |

It definitely would be worth watching. It definitely would be worth paying for too if the perks were just right. I would just say they should limit the access to those who can not pay. I would much rather see the ones who are strong supporters of CCP be rewarded for their loyalty. Getting to watch such an event life would be great anyway. Have a live cam walking around, like the google map truck you see once every few years. Walking around the building making you feel like you were really there. |

The only one I can see that being cheaply done with is ask the developers, ask the seated csm, and art time. Of course all the comedy drinking events however... that may not be in this year after last year's incident. |
