I plan on purchasing the PS4 when it releases for the holidays. My question to CCP is will I be able to transfer my character from the PS3 version to the PS4 version come launch.
I really like this game and it's plans for the future, but I do not want to invest my time in a game I don't see myself playing after the PS4 releases if It's not available on said console. I don't care if its a straight port through gakai. This needs to happen as PS4 releases or you will lose a lot of the player base including myself due to the fact that I'm not willing to wait a year after the PS4 launch for dust514 to be intergrated into gakai.
I need a straight answer, not SOON "tm", not we are looking into that, just let me know if my time investment with this game will continue going on to the PS4.
I don't care if I get called an early "sucker" adopter, I have had my fat 60gig ps3 for 7 years before it overheated due to extensive use. This message is for CCP anyways, not for trolls or broke @$$3$ that can't afford a PS4.
Plainly put: will I be able to play dust514 come ps4 launch? |

PS4 is going to be backwards compatable through Gaikai, basically PSN cloud gaming system, think of it like the new PSN store, should be able to download Dust without any issue onto a PS4, as long as Gaikai is up, AND has Dust in it at launch. I believe that they already have an extensive library ready but more will always be coming.
As for porting your characters, that wont be a problem since all of the character information is stored on CCP's servers. You could delete your dust off of your PS3 now and redownload it and still have your characters.
As for a PS4 version of dust. they have said that they will work on it, no straight answers as of yet. But it would be folish of them to think that Dust will be around for 10 years on a system at the very end of its life cycle. It will evetually be on PS4, unfortunately its just one of those be patient moments. |

In any case CCP has said that they have a 10 year plan, but do not expect Dust on PS4 at day 1, though they are talking about Gaikai.

Your characters are not stored on the console. They are associated with you PSN and stored on the Tranquility sever. Your character is "in the cloud.' |
