Hi all,
First off before I start, I'd like to thank many of the people who have expressed interest in supporting me as a dust CSM member in the last year that I first announced it. I was honestly quite staggered by all of the support and messages that I received and a special thanks to current CSM member Hans for all of the advice he has given me.
My decision mainly comes from 3 main reasons:
1) I personally don't think dust is ready for a CSM position as it stands, partially because we are still in beta and we don't yet know everything that will be coming on official launch. Its my personal opinion that we should possibly let CCP get a product out there and work on testing before we start, that way we will have a baseline to work from
2) The EVE - dust connection is still very thin right now, as such the EVE players have very little concern for dust bunnies as there are already issues in EVE that need to be worked on and seeing as its EVE players who can vote, its only natural that CSM candidates reprisenting their issues will be their first priority. Im sure this will change when the connection gets deeper and more integrated.
3) Right now, I'm having some quite serious problems in my personal life that have been cutting into the time that i have to play dust entirely, and sadly these problems don't seem like they will be solved particularly soon. I love dust and if I where to go for this position, I would want to give it everything I can which right now I simply can't. I started trying to help in little ways (forum warrioring, creating the wiki, spending a bit of time here and there in various locals helping out newbs) but right now I can't really do any of that what with RL problems and also planning on emigrating to another country.
Next year however things will be very different. Dust will certainly be different and hopefully my life will be in a position where i will have the time to give this role everything it deserves.
I will be at fanfest, so if anyone else who is going wants to chat about anything or even just get a drink, I'd be happy to do so.
Regards,
Jenza

DustersBlog wrote:Well Jenza, to be fair and honest, I don't think many people know you. The fact that Betamax is not present in the first Open Beta Tournament also shows lack of interest coming from your camp.
In the IRC you guys stated that you were busy "training" yourselves for zerg deployment. Well, there's no better training than competition, and you guys seem to do your best to avoid competition.
Anyway, good luck in your personal life.
we are not training for zerg deployment and that has nothing to do with the matter i hoped to raise here.
