Something needs to be changed somewhere to make being logistics or medic affordable.
I can't use any thing but a cheap suit. A level 3 suit fully outfitted is 100k, and you only get paid about 200k. And since you are not equipped to fight you are going to get killed.
Either
1 - Logistics actions need to get more WP and payment.
and/or
2 - There need to be more medics to revive so we lose less gear. Which means medics need to be awarded more so that more players become medics.
I would like to know how many logistics or medics there are that can use high level gear and break even. |

I'm still on standard suits, but I get close to even; especially when in a squad. I have seen logis in higher tier suits though, so someone finds it worth the price. I think the WP rewards are pretty good where they are, however. Revving a teammate gives me more WP's than the red dot who killed him, and if I rep him for triage I can get close to another 1.5 kills if he's a heavy. Add in 'hives on stairways and in narrow corridors and I net another kill or two over the battle. If the cost/benefit is terribly skewed for high-tier stuff, well that sucks and could use a tweak; but more WP's is not a good idea. Maybe we can talk our corps into logi bonuses; we save them 50-100k isk on a new suit, we get a small cut of those savings. |

I make money as a logi.
At no point in a pub match should you be running that much expeneive gear.
I can do well in just the sever with std gear. |

I will spend whatever costs necessary to ensure blueberries know they are never alone in the fight to overcome to pubstompers.
There is no battlefield I will not walk, no mountain I will not scale, no LAV I will not stand in front of, if it means the blueberries realise that one day, one glorious day, they will be that man. That selfless logibro who gave up 500k in one game to prove to them that protobears may be tough, but it is the spirit that lasts.
I will fight to the bitter end to pick up that fallen comrade, even if it means sacrificing myself by placing my shields between the body and the sniper I know is watching, hoping for a free kill, knowing that his rebirth will begin with the death of his saviour.
I will sink to the bottom of my wallet to ensure that blueberries will never cry for ammo, never hurt for armour, never sigh for bleeding out.
I will work until the enemies see my selfless acts of purity as true logibroness, and refuse to kill me.
Sometimes, it is the simple fact that a hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple as placing a nanohive on a blueberry and telling him his killing streak wasn't over, that keeps me going.
But why do we fall?

I Love my Sever.
My alt is using a Type 1 and he does okay. As long as there are three Equip Slots there isn't much more that is needed. A decent AR and picking off Reds while flanking for my Heavy does fine. Keeping out of the firefights, except when backing a Heavy, is my major rule.
Level 2 Logistics suits are worthless.
Level 3 is okay but now you can buy the 180 AUR version that has 4/4/4 slots. A little pricey but okay if you have the AUR laying about. I seriously doubt if I would spend the SP for it though. SP is way to valuable to waste on something that is not my core function. I only do Logi Bro as filler and mostly to support Heavies I know. |

You have to weigh the risk/reward of going into a match with such an expensive suit, and as someone mentioned before, if you are going into pub matches with a 100k fully loaded suit, you should really think twice.
I'll admit I use the sever suit pretty much exclusively right now, but even if I used another suit I'm only saving what, 10-12K versus a comparable standard logi suit? In pub matches I fit basic/militia modules to be financially sensible, and even substituting a non-blueprint suit I still come out of nearly every match with more money than I went in with. And if my team is getting completely stomped I have a bare bones, as-cheap-as-cheap-gets fit so I can keep my costs down to a minimum.
When I started playing, I was having reservations about how much suits and equipment was costing me and how often I was dying, but then I just sort of adjusted. I realize that in an average match I die anywhere from 5-10 times and I try to go with fits that will be profitable in that range. It's all part of the strategy of the game, even if you have maxed skills and access to the highest level equipment, if you can't stay alive and make a profit in a match, you really should not be fitting yourself that way.
Because honestly, even with the basic equipment you can still contribute to your team. A 30% militia nanite injector revives people just as well as a 12k 50% one.

You might not have noticed but this is true Throughout DUST.
Look at the SP required to get to tier 3 HAVs. Nothing happens at tier 2. Nothing. Come on, not even PG or CPU gains?
Nice that you brought it up and the Logi Bros could use some Love but so could Everything else.
One could hope that the game is still a Work In Progress (I seem to remember seeing that somewhere) and some of these empty levels will be back filled as it were.
Let CCP focus on getting the game Solid. That includes game play as well as the support functions. It might well be when we get EVE connections that they will be providing the options we have all felt are lacking. Like Scopes that Zoom enough to be usable. And Tier 2 HAVs. And the hundred other items that are being set aside as we test the Beta.

I would like the medic injector taken away from starter kits, And a better way to find people who want reviving (((maybe like some kind of ripple))), Also mines need to look different from explosives, And i'd like a limit to snipers on skirmish, Getting stuck on team of snipers sucks! |

The major problem facing a support/Logi character is that the arc for potential rewards is broken on the equipment tree causing your potential War Point gains to lower as the meta level of your equipment increases. I have a whole thread dedicated to this topic here.
This reduction in possible gains as you upgrade creates issues for both ISK and SP development of a character, essentially making it most advantageous to run militia gear as it has not only the lowest 'Risk' (i.e. investment of SP & ISK) but the highest reward (i.e. ceiling for potential WP gains within otherwise identical contexts).
When the equipment line is properly normalized with the other WP earning gear in the game I believe the OPs problems will no longer persist.

ps ~ totally off topic but since the subject was raised, dropship pilots really do need some WP earnings for what they do. |

I dunno. I feel like I had a much easier time earning ISK on my logi than I ever have running my heavy fit.
I wouldn't give it up to go back to Logi, mind you. But Heavy prices scale waaaay up for some pretty mediocre gain when you compare them to their logibros. |

When I do logi work I do it in a 4k isk militia suit. I'm often able to hit the top of the wp board for the match. You're not logi-ing good enough, OP. |

Try doing it in the expensive gear, it'll get harder to earn those WP
One of the major reasons (only one of mind you) I want the secondary market in game is so that CCP has a clear reference point for those items in game that are broken or weak as the market prices and transaction data will be a fairly direct flag.
Two of the most glaring examples: Pricing on dropsuits has not been rescaled even after the stats on the dropsuits have been (a moment of silence please for our comrades in heavy armor) and the reward mechanics for many items in the equipment line remain tied to an inverse progression (most highly rewarding the use of the least expensive/effective gear).
