30 minute red lines can be boring! It just turns into a sniper fest.
What are some ways that can end a skirmish match quicker?
I was thinking letting the Installations damage the MCC. So everyone can just jump in a cannon and blast away at the MCC. Thus effectively ending the match a little sooner. |

This used to be possible back in closed beta.
I remember trying to empty the last bit of armour the MCC had using an installation because the enemy had both the objectives, we won in the end. With the combined effort of the team.
I dont think anyone would sacrfice their time to do this if it was added unless you got some WP for it. |

Mhm it has a good balance aspect to it. You can sacrifice man power on the ground, in exchange you can slightly damage the MCC. I remember in the old build you could do it and get like 150 WP. |

I think skirmish needs to be rethought again. Right now it's just so simple and bland. I'm not sure what the solution is, but definitely shake things up and figure out how to give the losing team a way to actually get back into the game, or at least give them some way of trying, even if they fail spectacularly >_< |

I propose if the team has been redlined without capturing any CRU's or objectives for five minutes, an extremely powerful orbital strike hits in their redline area taking out the entire team.
It would easily solve the issue where a team is just getting stomped with no chance and allow everyone to move on to the next match more quickly. |

I completely agree, attackers and defenders have the same role in Skirmish, they should change it back to the 'Escort' mode like back in the closed beta. |

Perhaps when you have all objectives, your null cannons do an extra 25% damage as a "Concentrated Null Cannon bonus". |

Actually it was attack and defend not escort the defending team had control of the null cannon's from the get go |

Maybe let us use our OB's to hit the enemy MCC? Do a few ticks of damage on it. |

This is what needs to be done, maybe tweaking the numbers a bit. Lot of weird ideas in this thread, but rapid ticket loss worked fine in the Battlefield games and it'd work fine in Dust. Something silly like shooting the MCC for 5 minutes until the game ends would be even more boring than farming crappy people stuck behind their red line. Just make the NULL cannons go faster when the enemy is pushed back and don't make the mercy rule either require motonous crap like shooting the MCC, or optional crap, like shooting the MCC. |

would be could if you could fly a dropship into the enemy MCC, say after redlining them their force field goes down on the MCC exit, then you can fly DS in and destroy the MCC within like in Star Wars Battlefront 2 |

I'm going to stick with my original idea in that if one team holds all null cannons for a certain amount of time the other team's MCC retreats. I like that better than having it simply blow up faster since that doesn't really make sense. |

I recommend reading this this adds spice back into skirmish, and the possibility and incentive to end skirmish matches early if you can win it.

This isn't a bad idea either, but whether it "makes sense" is kind of irrelevant. It's science fiction, after all. They can make up whatever reason they want. "Oh, once all the software for the cannons has been slaved to your MCC, the targeting algorithms become synchronized and thus their fire rate increases by 100%." Bam, a passable explanation that I just pulled out of my ass.

Yes, Battlefield 2142's Titan game mode was fairly cool, but for solutions to stuff like this I think starting with a very simple solution would be best. Adding in boarding of the MCC would require far more effort on CCP's part than simply accelerating NULL cannon fire rate when all points are secured. |

I like Natural Selection 2's method of rounding up a match that you know you are going to lose.
An option to Concede the match. |
