CCP, I'd like to ask you something.
I tuned in just as a question a long these lines was asked,
"Will there be a way to test weapons out before a battle?"
Dev replied "Thats an interesting idea, that is something we'll look into"
I for one, do not like this idea, EVE players cant do this and I think the current way of testing out a fit is better, jumping into battle and hoping you're up against a skilled team, to get the best idea of what your fitting is like and how it fares up against other fittings. |

I personally think this should be limited to vehicles. it can also double as a means to learn to fly. |

YOu can test weapons against NPCs in Eve.
We don't get that option here. Get your facts straight. |

While you can't actually "field-test" fittings and all without buying and risking them in EVE, you can browse fittings that do and don't work on many sites and can get feedback from other pilots before making or using a fitting (don't take advice at face-value though). You can also get a feeling for things by flying bigger/more powerful ships against smaller/weaker enemies (NPCs) and not risk the ship, or make a "lesser" fitting (tech-I instead of tech-II and in a comparable but less expensive ship) and go test that out. PvP is a little different, though, since you can never know what you'll go up against and even with a perfect, time-tested fitting you can lose to a 'lesser' ship. Obviously, this mostly holds true for someone who can plan ahead and do this sort of thing...someone starting out will most likely just use trial and error until they figure things out or have someone tell them to do research...
Anyway, a few builds back there were free militia tanks and dropships (same thing as the default LAV we have now)...maybe something like that can be brought back, but with a limitation (maybe one per match, or goes away after a certain amount of SP is gained, or after you get certain vehicle skills...) |

While they were discussing the PvE aspect of Dust, they said that it won't be for a while. Their main focus is on the PvP/Social aspects of the game and they don't feel that PvE was a priority. |

Very disappointing interview......they didn't tell us nothing that we don't already know. We even know all of their responses were gtoing to be, "it's coming soon".
I mean, wtf is the secret about?? They are on schedule for their commercial release yet they can't say when or they don't know. |
