What about a "persision strike" It would only big enough to cover the same area as resupply installation does, like 5 to 10 meters or so SMALL like the size of one of the orbital blasts. But insta kill any player even in cover..
Lets say that sniper sitting on the hill going 15-0 and cant be killed cause hes in the redline. (we should have a way to make them pay for being worthless. (but there should be a warning like the orby gives so if they pay attention they could move out of way). .
Here my idea of Wp needed. Since a orbital takes 2500 WP (as a squad) maybe the Persision strike would take 1500. But it would be called by the person with the Wp to do it, not squad leader unless he has that many also. So if your whole squad got 1500 Wp a piece that would give you 2 orbital strikes (almost 3) and 4 personal "persision strikes" as a squad. I think its high time that snipers lost some lives instead of padding there KDR.
Or lets say a redline tank and your squad has 3 of them and a orby if they are all called in at same time it could be enough to destroy the tank to if its enough. I hate snipers so this is biased and it may solve the issue of redline snipers never dieing.
If u busted your but the whole game with 2000 WP and was sniped by GemCutter or any other deadly sniper, it would be cool to say ha here u go a little payback heading your way. And or the sniper call one in 2 if they got 30 kills 50 WP a piece.
Any thoughts

Counter sniping isn't hard. It's spawn somewhere with a supply depot, shoot the sniper(s), return to your regularly scheduled activities after changing fittings. |

This. Being in the redline doesn't make someone invincible. Snipers can die just as easily as anyone else. Often easier, as they have lighter armor. Sorry sniping from within the center of a stage isn't practical, as I'd just get some jamoke who randomly spawns or clumsily stumbles upon me, emptying an AR clip into my back before I can turn around. Wait... I take that back. I'm not sorry. Stop relying on dumb luck to funnel enemies into your bullet-hose. Move tactically and get some situational awareness. |

I'm not a sniper, nor a leet FPSer. my k/d ratio is something like 0.0000001 (yes I'm the guy that looks at the floor most of the time cuz he cant use a controller properly in an FPS game)
having said that,
MAN THE F**** UP!
CCP likes it rough and it encourages scamming and betrayal and the likes,
sniper on the red line? QQ more, man up take a tank and drive over him, take a squad in a drop ship and land on his ass. worse case scenario he moves away (problem solved?) or simply be smart and sneak up on him
as fas as I'm concerned, if it works and it's not against EULA? then do it.
you might have guessed i am primarely an EvE online player. And i do believe that if you are in a fair fight, you are doing it wrong.

Actually i'm a logi/DS pilot, my KD/R is about 2 so would you please kindly STFU and learn some insults, because those were to repeat myself pathetic. gbhghg is a pilot, im a sniper.
or was, my kdr is around 4.0 or less most of the time, due to me skilling up as a DS pilot and a logistics soldier, should i need to use my rifle rather than my DS (Damn you swarm launchers and forge guns  )
onto the issue with snipers(Scratch that campers feels like it): deal with it.
not "Deal with it" as in nothing else you can do, more like try to adapt to the changing situation.
the battlefield is alive, constantly changing, CQC is perfect for HMG's, Shottys and in your face type weaponry. long range warfare favors the sniper rifle, laser rifle, the assault rifle (Tactical Variant) and vehicles. Once more maps start to go around,(Personal dream) is that some maps are beneficial to some while other maps would benefit another class.
if your being tagged by a sniper, ask a squad sniper, or anyone sporting the Scope and ask him to look for anyone perched up on higher places, its a common rookie mistake to go by the top of the mountains. sure you can gain more kills that way, but once someone spots you, your F**ked. this in real life is called the skyline.

Personally i disagree, i don't like reline snipers but there's no reason they shouldn't be allowed to snipe from there, besides can anyone think of an actual practical solution that would only stop redline sniping and not cause an inbalance somewhere else in the game? As annoying as it is, it does fit in the spirit of the game.
Oh and nothing much junko, i'll have a look for you in condor squad next time i'm on, and we need to bug bojo about getting a headset. |

I'm a sniper myself and often find myself in shooting contests with other red line snipers. If you can't kill em from where you are, get a better angle or close for that matter and deal with him man. Or better yet, find yourself a sniper buddy to keep eyes on the hill. |

I second...or third, or tenth or whatever this. Snipers **** me off. Especially if they are good at it. That doesn't mean there is an imbalance or need for correction. I usually have a sniper on my squad and they can be very helpful as spotters and support. There are also times I hate heavies, and forge guns, and shotguns...but then it is pretty sweet to bust out with one of my own and get sweet revenge. |

Maybe a mortar or grenade launcher or something could be used to explosively flush them out if you really want to do it that way. But countersniping is the way to go.
Also, I love how the top half of the page had degenerated into KDR measuring contests. |
