Alright I'm sayin it, I'm a bit bored, Same maps. Same players. Killing newdots has never been a challenge. I'm not blaming CCP. I'm blaming us. New game mode, dropship corp battles. No swarms. No Forge guns. No installations, just ship to ship arial combat. Plus if we dont capture the objectives the battles would go on a lot longer. Challenge extended.

Thats like a very interesting FUN match, but my dropship skills are so bad lol i would love to see the best dropship players go head to head, though. |

I propose a new planetary game for New Eden.
Dropship Air Polo.
5 dropships on each side, 1 merc.
Rock Paper Scissors decides who begins.
Winner of RPS has to get the one merc on top of the dropship, to surf.
Aim of the game is to get the merc from one side of the field to the other (under the opposing team's mcc)
Rules: 1,pilots only inside dropships
2.The merc ball must be surfing the dropship.
3.The merc ball MUST jump to the nearest dropship to the one it is on if possible.
4.After a jump, the merc ball cannot jump for 5 seconds.
5.Crashing into dropships is allowed.
6.If the merc hits the ground, the team whose dropship which tackled the dropship with the merc on it gains possession of the merc ball.
7. You are not allowed to exit the pilot seat if you begin as a pilot at any time.
8. The merc must remain under the mcc for five seconds for a point to be allocated to the opposing mcc's team.
9. The merc must be on the roof of team A's dropship whilst under team B's mcc for the point countdown to initiate.
10. If the merc leaves the roof of team A's dropship at any time whilst under team B's mcc, the point countdown resets.
11. If team A scores a point, team B begins with the merc ball next round.
Let the burning wrecks of dropships light the universe.

Some of the best times I have had in a dropship have included chasing down an enemy dropship while my gunners send volleys of missiles through the air. Dropship dogfights are what make dropship piloting such a fun pass time. You can count me in. You get a billion + 1's from me... that's gotta be like a thousand or something. |

Alternate ideas:
Dropship soccer
Or dropship football for you european types. No gunners, but ramming is okay. You score points by getting "the ball" into the enemy's goal. The ball is a merc. Only one is allowed as a passenger at a time. Flip a coin at the outset to see which team starts with the ball. The goal will be some point, probably near the red line, within which the merc has to land. So you're trying to pull off precision drops while the enemy team tries to block them and/or ram you. And can you imagine how cool passing would look?
Dropship death racing
For each map design a course for the pilots to navigate, It should be fairly low altitude and require passing through and under many obstacles. No gunners (or perhaps only one with a militia gun), but ramming is allowed. If your dropship crashes you can call one in from where you are, but you cannot proceed along the course on foot. If you die, you have to go back to the beginning of whatever lap you're on. Whoever finishes with the most laps by the end of the match wins.
I would say this one should actually be done in pub, rather than corp, matches. I like the added danger of the possibility of being attacked by reds as you're racing. Gives it a "Mad Max in the Thunder dome" feel. |

Yes to the racing, although random berries with LAV's, HAV's could make the track inaccessible at points, the football idea will just see everything burn and i'm not sure it would work, i mean what happens if the merc dies during a tackle? or someone crushes him by accident when trying to do a pickup |

I'll pass word up the chain, this sounds like a lot of fun and a fresh change of pace. I'd have to say though, no Afterburners. If afterburners are allowed, I think it would just get silly.
I think 3 dropships vs 3 dropships would be best, 2 gunners in 2 of them, and 1 in the last. |
