So...Us Dusters are kind of unhappy with the way this game is being treated, we haven't had much communication with Dev's or...Anyone, in any time. The closest we've come to being a part of the EVE Universe is having our servers crashed by some Super-Battle, and that was a long time ago. The lack of updates (Economy, Trading, FW Etc.) Has caused this game to be a more detailed version of CoD, with SP and ISK and roles etc.
But before anyone decides to quit, I ask them to take a look at this thread. Look at EVE, where it's gotten in 10 years. Sure CCP seems to be asleep at the wheel but, you've seen the height of their work. A large universe, with a working economy and player-made lore.
To skip to the material however, CCP had been on vacation for awhile (A fact that I learned only recently) which would explain the lack of communication and content, even game developers need breaks.
Apparently Fanfest is just around the corner (Another fact that I only learned recently) this means that they're saving important information about DUST for fanfest, undoubtedly, as the only way to cause the amount of hype that they'll need to save DUST is to show off at Fanfest to both EVE pilots and DUST mercs alike.
It's still in Beta. This is an overused excuse, but still a valid one. The lack of understanding for this point irritates me personally, with all the things they promised this game needed an open beta. You could NOT expect to just download this game randomly with two large economies working perfectly as one, or galactic conquest, or OB's working perfectly. Not from day one, that would be insane.
So, if you were planning on quitting, I can not stop you from doing so, but looking at the points above, it seems like it's a little too early to quit on this game yet. I won't be quitting and I know of a few more dedicated mercs who won't either, not until it's painfully obvious that us console gamers have been forgotten by CCP. |

Well, obviously the FPS console market is a little awkward, for the most part all they want is the next CoD game or BF. I have faith that those of us that enjoy development of character and such will stay/come back to dust. I also doubt that DUST will be left out of conversation on April 25th, I just...Doubt that. Unless large changes are made before Fanfest (I pray to who/whatever deity that they are) then they'll have to say something about DUST. Not to say that I don't see CCPs faults in the way they're going about this,
an example being: Listening to whiny casual gamers about what's broken and what isn't even though in the end those gamers will leave regardless
and
Forcing us to wait for a market (even a sloppy thrown together one) or even testing FW, maybe in a small New Eden Replica galaxy with only a few EVE corps present then adding more until eventually intergrating us.
I'm just saying that looking at the work done with EVE, those of us that are interested in being a part of a galaxy like that should be patient, not to mention my comment about how CCP went on vacation not too long ago , and attributing that to the lack of communication and progress. It was an idiotic time to go on vacation, no refuting that, but at least we know they weren't entirely ignoring us.
But for those FPS gamers that I KNOW we all think of when we hear about CoD or Halo, let 'em go. This isn't who that was directed towards, you couldn't get them to stay even if you built the game exactly as they wanted it, because if you did that, they'd claim you were just ripping off of CoD (You would be) and then leave. |

Yeah, stupid China. And your stupid lunar calendar stupid New Year. Go, go western world! Everyone should just go on vacation for a few days at Christmas like normal people. Or take the entire summer off like Scandinavians. You were making some good points in the thread but the cultural ignorance sort of brings it down... There is some refuting that CCP Shanghai going on vacation for the New Year was idiotic. That is just how it works over there in China. Well, for the people that are lucky enough to actually get time off. Edit* Not giving the employees time off would have been idiotic. THey are not our personal slaves. WHat are we beta testers, Amarrian trust fund hipsters? yeesh.
Whether or not I know anything about China is beside the point, my point is to have faith in the game. And besides...I'm not too big a fan of the western world either. But that has nothing to do with anything. I don't care about the culture of the west or east, what I was saying pertains only to the game, therefore I will ignore your comment and this thread will continue as per usual. Have a nice day.
