There needs to be the following roles in the game
-squad leader(already there) -team leader(team leader sets objectives for each squad).
Having a team leader role ensures there is strategy for the squads. In return for following the team leaders objective, squad members receive extra points. Team leader role is needed more in games where people do not have headsets.
-To become team leader in a public match, you must *select an option indicating you want to be team leader *leader is automatically chosen by having the most war points & having team leader option selected.
-during corporation matches, these roles should be set by a company director/corporation owner.

+1 I like it, thought this was meant to come in as "commander" role, not entirely sure what happened to that.
Probably wont make a lot of difference for public matches, but when the player owned corp v corp battles come in this will be effective, because you re basically losing a player for the greater good, so only works if everyone is going to follow orders.
Any reward for commander should be based off whether game is won or lost. |

Love the idea - however, we have to be careful with ideas like war points deciding this. Plenty of people find innovative ways to farm WP in a game that causes your team to lose, but themselves to benefit. I don't want those people in charge of my team.

This, would be preferable. I don't care what your methods are (unless you exploit) if you win consistently. However, quitting out of matches would need to count as a loss to avoid people trying to farm W/L ratio. |

ideally you should barely get anything; this is because nobody would go there to farm anything, but teams could rotate the commander duty s that there is one, ie one man sacrifices his earnings for the round, and then duty is passed on to the next man and so on... benefitting player corps over public maps. |

People are going to farm no matter what system you put in place. Let them farm, and build the system for the 98% of players that play to win/have fun. |

I thought that maybe the EvE pilots may take that role, with a command battleship or something....
But yes, i use to enjoy that in Battlefield 2. Hard work but very rewarding. |

God, I hope not. That's like the air force telling the marines how to fight. I personally won't be taking any commands from some uppity wing jockey.

First, the Battle Commander will probably handle the role. I certainly would if I or my Corp put 120M into an MCC.
These are Public Instant Battles. Which are essentially Training areas that your clone can die in and you can kill other clones. For fun, loot and learning how to use the tools at your disposal. Adding the Team Leader would be inconsistent with that, in my mind at least.
If you really want that now, join a Corp and fight in the Corp Matches. I suspect there is at least some of that going on. I have yet to play in any as I am taking my time heading to that destination.
Any Corp Mercs want to share?
I am not trying to gather secret intelligence on your operations. I think it might be helpful to many that have not played in them. It might even make them consider joining your Corp. |

Oh, as it hasn't been said - command of battle should definitely involve a skill you need to train. |
