The problem isn't that it is OP. The problem is it has less recoil then the duvolle and its way cheaper. All you have to do is stack damage mods and you have Geks recoil with duvolles power. GEKs need to be a little bit more expensive or the duvolles need a buff lol.  True, but doesn't the Exile have less recoil than the GEK? And you don't really have to "stack" too much to get the damage of the more advanced weapon. An 'Exile' with one complex mod does more damage than a GEK, right? So what's the problem? I also got to say this whole thing seems funny to me since they leveled weapon damage a while back and a lot of us thought it took away a lot of the incentive to run proto weapons...can you image the tears if the standard AR was still 10% less powerful than the GEK?

There should be more recoil until you hit the duvolle. The AR skill itself reduces recoil.
In current you have for less recoil in this order, exile, gek, duvolle.
It should go duvolle, gek, exile.
At AR level V think of how much less recoil you have with exile, fit that on proto suit with damage mods, add the AR proficiency skill bonus, you pretty much just put the proto gun to shame right there. |

We sure about that? It says 'bonus to kick and spread" not "decreases" or "increases", who knows what the hell that could mean. Edit: The exact wording is "Assault rifle dispersion and kick bonus: 5%"

That's not an insult, I'm primarily an AR user.
It is the simpler and less rewarding path but nonetheless it's accessibility is crucial to the game. When people like me tire of using the AR I'm sure we will eventually take the plunge into something more complex and tactical. In terms of the GEK specifically, I think a minor adjustment to either the price, the recoil, or both will even things up satisfactorily and not be a deal-breaker for the grunts like myself.
No, the AR is for people who are good at every situation. Why spec smg if have good long range aim. Why spec lazors if you are a beast in cqc. AR is for the jack of all trades type of players. I would be limiting myself if I played anything else. At least thats how I see it.
Why I went into AR after my viziam, cuz with AR you can do it all. |
