Becuase I told God-Nova months ago already about the same issue he is complaing about today? I am a person, not a tape recorder.
As for the statement about this game.

So stopped being a thick-skulled-fan-boi Seriously man there are more people in the dust community that care about this game then just you. I get it CCP said they don't have to listen to us, just the csm. I'd be happy to paste the quote from them. It's saved for just these occasions. I am sure the open beta testers would love to know that. CCP is just farming money right now thats why there is no sense of urgency to actually deliver they game we are already paying for. CCP doesn't communicate worth a **** about anything because they assume "their ideas" will work first time. How has that worked out in practice that last 12 monoths for dust? Sorry Ironwolf but ccp has made a miserable game and called it a beta to cover their ass on it. Everyone of us play it to get sp and nothing else. If sp didn't have a cap I think most players would just leave and come back when this remotely looks like a real game.
You don't attend very many development schedule cycle meetings do you?
Took my last work place two years to impliment a new way to rebuild and redo jet engines because the constant amount of re-iterating what worked on paper may not have worked so well on the floor. Origianlly scheduled to take 3 years though because some of the things on the paper worked too well. After that cycle was done we managed to shut down a warehouse we no longer needed. |

Oh really? I want you starting today to upgrade all of Warlmart's network backbone to a gigabit connection and have it able to communicate with murphy's and sam's club infrastructre to cordinate with corproate resources on all levels from financing, accounts, inventory, and trade partners. |

LOL. Dont confuse a netwrok upgrade with SDLC. Network upgrades involve not only cordination within the company but also 3rd party provides. Where are you getting you Gb interfaces from? Cisco? Typo? Mom and Pop? Are you upgrading you server interfaces too? Are you backbone switches Gb compatible or are the 10/100? Are they in Full Auto or Duplex mode. CCIE here LMFAO. This is code builds. Has nothing to do with a backbone upgrade. a bug fix is identify the problem -> fix the rpoblem ->> QA test it. Its as simple as that. We have 20 devs working on bug fixes and go through over 200 tickets a day. Stop being a fanboy and get real son.
Well Cisco doesnt build any of thier equipment they sort of never had to. They just make standards you learn about and use. However Juniper is a great alternative in costs they don't have the support Cisco does in accomplishing goals. Also Full auto sucks becuase they usually require a simplex and of course if somone forgets to set up one side it screws the other sides up quite badly resulting in hundreds of customers unable to talk all that well, duplex mode is more efficent in a ring circuit fashion to prevent single point of failure. Just most of the equipment seems to like failing silently.
Also last I time I had a talk art has been a major bottleneck as well, art assests are being pumped out but not fast enough to the development's liking so the devs are going around buying some time for them fixing all sorts of other crud.
Now the next larger problems is contacting all the involved ISPs, and managing end point devices after demarkation points and of course what does your CCIE have power over those union copperheads? Last time I checked they're pretty hard set on thier ways and since they're senior you can't tell them what to do. Damn cheap charlies.
But back on topic.
New Eden Network -Cluster v -Accounts -Login -Customers ^ --Eve Online, London v ---Market ----Sol ---Backbone links ----API ----Database ---Terra ----Persona ---Inventories ^ --Dust 514, Shanghai v -Battleservers, Various around the world -Customers -Accounts v -Login ^ --PSN Network, Various around the world --Sony QA v ----Vivox C3 Voice services
While this is not the best or most complete map of the whole mess dealing with Dust 514. Everything that Dust 514 screws with the rest of it. There are far more people involved than people in CCP Shanghai, right now would not surprise me if the FW discussion is happening still between CCP Shanghai and CCP Iceland as this feature can break Eve Online.
I mean they just recently got Dust 514 ON TQ and are now finally breathing a sigh of releif, right now they're monitoring the effects of dust 514 on the live envrionments. Which is one reason why they're hesitant to actually have dust 514 players move around on sol during corp battles, so they remain in thier previous local systems for now. |

Dude! We are not talking about the CCP network infratructure out here. We are talking about communication between CCP and gamers. Simple no? And my consultation fees is $60 an hour onsite local and $1000 - $3000 a day if I have to travel. If CCP wants to hire me for help with their SDLC let them let me know and I will check my calendar. I have brought SOA systems in under a year. But its not about me or anything else. Its about communication. One simple email or dev blog or announcement. Is that too much to ask?
They're busy. As much as they would like to read the forums, post comments, talk with the folks on IRC, tweet, facebook, youtube, and dev blog, they have a game to put out and a deadline to meet.
As for a guy who does hang out in IRC all day about.
The FW dev blog is not feature set, hence why there is no blog yet, they have not finalized a few features between ccp iceland and ccp shanghai on what effects it will have both ways.
The dropsuit blog is waiting on art assets.
The only thing that seems to have no explination in publishing is the dust 514 csm minutes. Which would be not that very informational to somone like myself who probably has read paragraph summaries of its contents in one form or another. |

How much of it do you actually see done? Not many, but I'm an optimistic person... I do hope they get to work on them as fast as possible though, things are getting kind of boring/stale. There was also their little vacation, it seems to me that people are under the impression that CCP was actually secretly at work during this time... They're probably mistaken, I certainly don't work during my vacation.
Well when the shanghi crew was on vacaction. We had some live even guys working with dust at the time, and Nullarbor is in iceland now working on network stuff so he was talking with the IRC all week. |

Actually you are quite wrong about this atleast in Corporate America. Corporate America loves assholes and they get paid a lot. When I recruit people I like my fellow ******* because they are the ones that actually get the job done. There is skill set and there is experience. In corporate america both are taken into account. While someone might have the skill set they dont have the experience. I have gone through over 1000 resumes, screened over 200 people and recruited less than 20. Anyways back to communication. We need better communication from CCP.
The thing is though corproate america has been flagging my school saying 'we're running out of replacments because nobody has any experince nor skill sets to replace the dinosaurs they're forcing out,' and my gawd are some of America's fresh out of high school students are amazingly less educated than when I went though.

Dude, I am not telling you guys to shut up, I am telling you to listen. Rome was not built in a day, neither was vertical new york. Both had concrete, one of the two cities had to reinvent it because everyone forgot how to make it after rome fell. Burning of Constantenople was one of the bigger excuses of the dark age.
Movies, wars, cities, contracts, subcontracts, they all take time and when you like it or not the excuse of not yet feasibly, fiscally, technologically or physically possible will always get in your damn way of wanting what you want.
You can't get to mars in an hour, You can't get to beta cyngus in a day, and you may get mad at me all day long about my excuses as to why, and no amount of your fire starting is going to fix that yesterday. Maybe in a hundred years, thosand who knows but as it stands today its still being worked on, its being worked on by people who love the game very much and would like every chance for it to succedde, its being worked on by people who are taking thier work home and working on it, doing work on during the vacation. Maybe they're running into problems, maybe they're making unreal engine 3 do things it was not designed to do, who knows? CCP does and they're more focused on fixing those issues than to talk with us.
I would say its unfourtunate they have so few community developers that are not being barrowed by marketing deparment but that's the breaks when you're making a game that doesnt have a need for a community dev yet. You have very few people its best to use all of thier time making the game than to delay a game another month because you have them reading forum posts. |

I will say I am full agreement ccp needs to talk with us more. However I am asking you all to understand they're working on the game and information pipeline. Its not like they're playing golf in shanghai (which begs the question is there a golf course there? I didn't remember one on my last trip there) but at least they are very hard at work there.
I will say that Dust 514 is not the worst offender when it comes to Beta Testing and progress that is taking forever to get anywhere.
Behold! First MMO to go BACK INTO BETA after commercial launch!
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/
As for the additude of getting stuff done verses doing stuff right.
Getting stuff done gets people killed and wastes a crap tonn of money and time. I know this from my previous work experience, I am short 6 friends because 'someone wanted it done and didn't take excuses.' |

First MMO to go BACK INTO BETA after commercial launch! http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ i can understand that, but....think about the guys that hasn't played dust, now think about the guys that are about to quit playing. do you think they are going to care for what your post means? i mean no harm by this statement but outside of these forums are a larger crowd. they will not see Dust the way we(you) see it. i just want CCP to involve us more so we have an incentive to stay, instead of trying to hold on to that belief "Dust will be the greatest game so just wait awhile"
That the most I can say to them right now as a fellow beta tester, 'come back in 6 months'. Console players really don't have the patience, that's a given. Right now the CSM minutes have been updated with dust 514 section in it, expansion cycles are now every 3 months which places the uprising expansion to mid march give or take. |

Can you stop blaming the players for a God Damned Second. You can't see a damn thing with your head so far up CCPs ass right now
Why is it never CCPs fault? Why did it take 5 months to fix invalid bug? Why do they "fix" things and it end us destorying them? Missile turrets needed balance and they ruined them. CCP is just like you they want us to listen and be patient about stuff well its been a year and this game is ****.
Lets go down the list of stuff ccp has given us over the last year and still have.
Frame rate stutter lag (I have a high speed business class pipe and 1 out of 3 games i can really feel the lag) blue ******* sheilds spawming (why would anyone really use aurum gear when they could lose it first spawn of the game?) inventory bugs disconnects UVT issues go and search for a corp and get dc'd coms bugs (this is great when you switch to team chat to play a corp battle and 3 people have lost coms or get dc'd) Inventory issues Restocking issues infinite spinning wheel bug (so many things causes this) No alliance chat or functionality for dust side No market passive sp bug
head ******* glitching (6 months later is considered a technical issue by ccp when we told them to fix it last summer) heavies that stick their gun into a wall and half the bullets still hit me.
laser skill are fk'd up and need looking at
map for ***** sake maps are bad. We asked for more maps and more infantry specific sockets so tanks/ds couldn't rule the day. We got smaller maps and the same maps. Whose ever idea that was a ccp should be fired for shear stupidity.
corp battles are lame
The only connecction to eve we have with game play is just an exploitable no value proposition.
So don't tell me to be patient any more ironwolf because after a year this is all the **** we got.
... Sounds like a beta. Does not sound like complete game you make it out to be, it also sounds like you need to take a 6 month break.
As for the invalid bug... its back but it has mutated into a odd form where it only invalidates half of the fittings available. |

Thing with matchmaking as CCP nullarbor told is its one variable he screwed around with. The most time consuming part was reading the results of that variable switch. After all it was a massive complaint about new players getting smashed by vetberries. |
