clearly many people do understand what a beta means. We also know that their is a definite timer on CCP's head now. We told CCP it was too soon to go Open Beta because you're not going to get a chance at a second impression.
Sure the fanboys will stick around but beyond a small core the rest will decay in time. You already see the boredom and complacency sinking in, I mean i watch that intro everyime i load my game because thats what i look forward to the scope and scale promises to be epic.
I get that CCP has a very real 10 year roadmap fine. I get that CCP may be keeping cards close to the vest to prevent IP theft by other developers that are making similar IP's (Destiny among others). And frankly twitter and facebook are nice to keep players engaged alongside IRC but stuff lives and dies here on these forums. Frankly media and marketing needs to single thread all their stuff so it brings all mediums to one common traffic site which should be the CCP blog via Dust website with further in depth new on forums only accessible to players with valid Dust accounts.
You can crack all the jokes you want about how if i were a mature adult id wait patiently. Well i am a mature adult and i do know how to wait patiently but i also don't like to be completely in the dark. As is i have no sense of scope, vision, ideal or grand message to buy into other than
We will have a persistent MMOFFS universe that is a sandbox and cross-platform, You will get to own and run districts(maybe) with planetary soverignty(maybe) etc etc etc and it will all be SoonGäó.
Ok well what is the general roadmap, where do you see this game in 1 mo, 6mo, and 1 year from now. What are the challenges in the way, what as a community can we do to help you realize these goals. You can't ask community to be help beta test and then not engage them. I understand vacations and holidays, but cmon already. Really all we are trying to do is light a fire under CCP's arse because we want them to succeed and we believe in their concept but now its time to reveal a little more of the vision and re-engage us and recapture our imaginations from the disillusion most find themselves in. |

I understand the nitty gritties of SDLC all too well. I also have enough knowledge about code and build management to tell you that its no excuse. Oh really? I want you starting today to upgrade all of Warlmart's network backbone to a gigabit connection and have it able to communicate with murphy's and sam's club infrastructre to cordinate with corproate resources on all levels from financing, accounts, inventory, and trade partners. LOL. Dont confuse a netwrok upgrade with SDLC. Network upgrades involve not only cordination within the company but also 3rd party provides. Where are you getting you Gb interfaces from? Cisco? Typo? Mom and Pop? Are you upgrading you server interfaces too? Are you backbone switches Gb compatible or are the 10/100? Are they in Full Auto or Duplex mode. CCIE here LMFAO. This is code builds. Has nothing to do with a backbone upgrade. a bug fix is identify the problem -> fix the rpoblem ->> QA test it. Its as simple as that. We have 20 devs working on bug fixes and go through over 200 tickets a day. Stop being a fanboy and get real son.
Damn i think he just flexed his pimp hand. |
